A bunch of Street Fighter and I suck at it. They don't even sell fighting sticks in my country so the shipping costs more than the stick. I might buy one anyway around June. Hopefully it doesn't come dead on arrival.
Fate/Stay Night is fun and all, but I actually found myself bored at the H-scenes. They kind of take away from the game, it's so action packed and then suddenly Shirou is fucking Saber
Neptunia sucks and I hate the 40 bucks I spent on it back when it came out

You torrent your anime don't you?
Why not your games too?
I own it for the Vita, back when it came out there was no indication of it coming to PC, otherwise I would've waited.

That's fair enough, I'd actually forgotten it had started on the consoles, I don't really play JRPG's much either.
A guy once asked me "Where do you watch your anime?" I was very confused. It took me a few moments, but I realized what he meant. I was mortified.
It's weird to me to think that people actually stream anime. Even when I first got into the medium and had no clue what I was doing, I asked people on the internet for recommendations and then went to torrent sites and downloaded things like TTGL, CLANNAD, K-On, etc
Maybe I was just a dumb kid who didn't know of the nyaa of the day, but I remember just a decade ago (before torrenting was nearly as universal as it is now) getting your hands on anime files was a pretty nasty process. It was also pretty expensive (storage wasn't nearly as cheap as it is today and video codecs were a lot less efficient) and ultimately just pointless since in the days before BD releases the quality was as shit no matter where you watch it.
Since then downloading has had its disadvantages stripped away and it really is superior to streaming in every way now. But then again, 2016's "streaming" is more about paying money for shitty Daisuki/CR subscriptions than the old "watching bleach on a tiny flash player in some obscure fan website", so I think for most people it's a matter of principal more than anything else.
Come to think of it, how old is nyaa? I remember for a long time I used to use TokyoTosho, and hell, I think that one the sites I went on that's what a lot of the people used then. You're definitely right that it was a lot harder to download stuff then it is now.
The only thing I find slightly acceptable about streaming is the "supporting the company" argument, but even then there are way better ways to give them your money, like merchandise and such. That way you actually get a physical item too. I like Osomatsu-san so much I'm going to buying those 6 figmas they've released, but I pirated every episode. That's a bigger contribution than anyone who streamed the show.
With all that being said, watching a stream can be fun if you're doing it with other people and talking about the show while it's happening.

Still one of the bestest games ever.>>13316
Better than "where do you buy your anime?" at least.
So KoF is going 3D as well…
Not really. Take KoF or SF for example. They are 2D fighting games. Even if they have a somewhat of a 3D environment and during specials and go into 3D (but you don't actually have control when it is in 3D) you play as if it is a 2D game.
Now take DoA or Virtual fighter. Now that is a 3D fighter. Why? Because you can move in 3D. Going up means going up, not jumping in them. You can move in 360 degrees to your opponent.
In fighting games 2D and 3D is a matter of mechanics, not graphical improvements.
She's kind of funny looking

I like how a lot of you guys like fighting games, but what is it about the genre that you like? I've never been able to get into it, it seems to have an extremely high skill level starting out and I always get my ass handed to me and usually end up quitting. Play UBW if you feel like playing more FSN
I guess I do, but I feel pretty satisfied in F/SN already.
Try UBW at least, since it's the most notorious, and arguably the best of all routes
Alright, I'll play it. Hopefully I get to fuck Tohsaka a lot!
I dunno, I feel like it would just take way too much time to learn the combos and stuff that are required to win.
>>13369>Pretty sure he meant going from sprites to 3d models.
I think so too, but I am just explaining what it is usually meant by that in fighting games.>>13380
Juri fans are horrible.>>13372>>13395
It is relatively easy to do "combos", especially if you just play Ryu or something similar. Fireballs and spin kicks is something you probably already do without mashing and it is only dragon punches that you really mash for. You will just have to get used to not doing that. Playing 3rd strike might help you as mashing in it pretty much doesn't work. You just have to learn to do a few combinations of buttons. It doesn't take that long. It helps to do more damage, but there is something even more important (or at least just as important) for new players - defence. You have to learn to properly block and when to use high and low blocks, plus what of your opponent attacks are punishable, even if with nothing else but hard kick right now, you will learn to do more later.

Has the fighting game community always been this big or has it just gotten big recently?
Yes and no. I guess it had its rises and downs, but since SFIV it has been constantly rising. I think this tournament had a thousand participants, which is close to the EVO numbers. They said that fort he first time they hit the limit of players they previous had put for the event. The guy hosting the event said he will have to get a bigger place next time. But this is still nothing compared to something like LoL or Dota, though the stream had over 60k viewers I think. EVO gets bigger viewership of course. Most of the people going to the events are players themselves, though, something which is definitely not true for the big games.
The only good game out of that is Sleeping Dogs, and Sleeping Dogs is just about a 6.5/10

King from King of Fighters.
Way of the Samurai 3 for PC has been released on steam and on torrent trackers.
I think I've owned that on the PS3 for like 6 years now, is there anything new or is it just a direct port?
Looks like a director port. Even the DLCs are not put together with the game as one, though they are only three, each at 2 dollars/euro. I haven't even finished 4, just pirated and tried it a lot a little, but I would like to finish it one day. 30fps locked, but at least you have resolution options. 4 was quite light to run even on 4k downscaled to 1080p.
I forgot to mention, 4 was on gog. That was the version I even priated, but 3 doesn't seem to be there.
Come on, it's an 8 year old game (7 in the west) and they're really charging money for the DLC? That's ridiculous, even if the DLC is cheap.
I know, Japanese especially seem to often do this, but their DLCs are among the most meaningless. But Dragon's Dogma for example came with the expansion and everything. But Capcom as a bigger studio probably didn't have much of justification to not do it and it might have even hurt them. The majority of Japanese games, including WoS, are niche in the west and really don't expect millions of sales, even sometimes hundreds of thousands of sells in Japan. They do use DLC as a method of survival, not like Westerns.
Speaking of Dragon's Dogma which has great kb+m controls, you need a gamepad for WoS.
And it seems like I lied, I have the steam version of 4 pirated, plus the latest patch.
File: 1458767516509.jpg (12.91 KB, 323x286) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
>>13558>you need a gamepad for WoS.
How annoying. It's the mark of a poor port if they can't even remap the controls to work on keyboard and mouse. That being said I'm not going to buy it since I already own it, but that's a bit frustrating to hear for any sort of port.
I know I am being too accepting, but somehow I don't see a small Japanese studio getting mouse controls properly. Look at DaS, they fucking retards still can't do it, even though they are supposedly trying. Dragon's Dogma was a very nice surprise, especially considering SFV was probably written by a bunch of monkeys, though it was released after DD and probably had completely different people working on it. But still a Japanese studio, though a relatively bigger one.
Well, I guess I never looked at it like that, and it does make sense for them to stick with what works rather than ruin the port entirely. Though I do feel they're alienating some portion of the market by not having keyboard+mouse support, but at the same time anyone who really wants to play it will get a gamepad or already has it on a console.
Sure, some people probably weren't able to play because of that. But most of the fans of niche Japanese games already have a controller. I doubt it was any remarkable hit on the sale, possible not even enough to pay the cost of them getting an outside to make their game work with a mouse.

Does anyone actually see a reason in having a Wii U in 2016? I hate selling game consoles and games and my personal creed is to usually never do it, but I'm honestly considering selling mine and all the games because it's just so lame. My Wii U has sat in its box for 9 months now in my closet, and it's been since Smash 4 came out since I've played it.
Should I keep it or do you think I should sell it so I can get some money and buy some other games for better systems?
What do you want to get instead of the Wii U?
Gamecube/N64/SNES games I already don't own. They're creeping in prices and I'm a NEET so I'd prefer to get stuff when it's cheaper so I can get more
If you are for collecting them, that is fine, but otherwise they all run just fine on emulators.
The idea of emulators is great, but my computer is so old anything newer than SNES games it has problems running, which is why I still buy physical copies. I also do collect them, though.
Save money, including the Wii U ones, and buy a nice PC then. You will be able to play many of the old games and even newer ones. And actually go try the Dolphin Emulator (Gamecube + Wii) it is not really a heavy software.
File: 1458580942908.gif (71.27 KB, 424x507) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
I'd rather not spend $1000-2000 on a PC since I don't like PC gaming at all and I already own the systems I'd be emulating, so I think it would kind of be a waste of money. I only use my PC for anime and the internet anyways.
There is no "PC gaming." There is nothing inherently different other than the controls and you can actually switch to whatever other controls you want at any time. If you want to get a PS4/PS3/PSP/Vita for the Japanese games, I could understand, but there is not much point in going for the older consoles. Though you seem interest only in Nintendo. Also a 1000 dollar PC would mean you are getting something like a gtx980, which you don't really need. I wouldn't go for more than 600, which is enough for both emulation (up to the sixth gen, without XBOX) and any new game. Other than the Japanese niche games there isn't anything worthwhile exclusives on the current consoles. There are plenty old and new games to pirate. It is not really worth getting any console other than the PS3 right now.
I'm not only interested in Nintendo, that's just the stuff I wasn't able to successfully save from my childhood (parents giving my games away or selling them without asking me, etc)
I have a ton of PSX games already and my Vita library is the largest one I have. While I do admit that emulation would likely save me a lot of time and probably some money in the long run, at the same time I do enjoy owning them and I guess in a way I'm buying back some parts of my childhood by getting the games and stuff back. Plus I've always valued owning the game over emulating it or digitally buying it, since there's nothing that can take the game away from me.
With that thinking having your pirated games on RAIDs is the safest way to preserve them. But whatever floats your boat.

Sorry for a late response. While I haven't played that game in particular, Professor Layton is completely different from Phoenix Wright and you may not be a fan of it. I'd recommend at least trying out of the games before you buy it. That way, if you do like it, you can buy the crossover and get double the enjoyment!
File: sunshine.PNG (530.67 KB, 649x512) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
I was actually able to get Super Mario Sunshine working. There was some minor slowdown in the FPS at the beginning where you're on the airstrip, but fucking around in Delfino Plaza had basically noo slow down. The only downside is that my Gamepad is an Xbox controller so I don't have the pressurized L/R buttons like the Gamecube has so there's no way to run and spray water in the game, which makes playing this game kind of pointless on PC. At least I own it on Gamecube, though. I wonder what else I can get to run on my shit PC.
If you are the anon from earlier in the thread you should be able to use your Wii U controller/s with this emulator, I think. Don't be afraid of pressing the window maximizing window it shouldn't effect the rendering resolution anyway. And check the dolphin wiki for possible settings and fixes for this game and others. Enabling Skip EFB Access from CPU (graphic, hacks) specifically has helped me with some games when they have some super heavy effects, but from the Sunshine wiki article I don't see it mentioned anyway, so it is probably not a big problem. Also look around your Enhancements settings.
Wii U controllers don't have the needed pressurized triggers like the Gamecube has for Sunshine. Regardless, I own the game so there's no need to play it on my PC.
I might see if I can get Chibi Robo to play!

I just played some of Chibi Robo, and I have to say, I really was not impressed. I'm glad I didn't spend $70 on this, since I don't think it's even worth $20.
The game alone costs $70 dollars? That's way too expensive!
Gamecube games are getting really expensive, likely because it's the worst selling Nintendo console other than the Wii U (which already has its fair share of expensive games, thanks Nintendo!)
I'm going to at least try out the games that I want to buy before I do now, because I would've just wasted that much money on a game I don't even think is good.
It felt like Katamari Damacy on the PS2 without the charm, good music, and fun.

Have you played any of them? They're garbage. If it's a sequel to previous entries in the series (Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, etc) the prequels are all better. The only game I really enjoyed in my 3 years of owning the console was fucking Windwaker HD

I know square has tricked me into thinking that FF15 will be good and I'm enjoying the hype and its tie in anime.
I can't believe how much money they are sinking into this titanic its amazing. They made an anime series and put it on youtube. The Advent Children style CGI movie has multiple big actors like Sean Bean and the stream today was restreamed in like 5 different languages. Who releases 3 different trailers for the same game on the same day? Madmen that's who.
Square hasn't existed since like 2002.
I played the demo that came out today (didn't get a chance to play the other one, this was my first experience with FFXV) and the combat was awful. I have no idea how it's possible to fuck up so hard, they could have just copied Kingdom Hearts entirely and it would be better than "Hold O to win".
Ironically, the cheaply-made short promotional anime was more entertaining than the half hour I spent playing the demo.
File: 1448054542503.png (1.94 MB, 1793x2442) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
I agree completely with you, the combat was terrible. Everyone was saying it was going to be like Kingdom Hearts, so I thought at least it would be enjoyable, but no, it was complete garbage. The fact that people are still falling for Square Enix's bullshit after Final Fantasy 13 is honestly amazing.
Not very Japanese at its nature, but I am sure you have seen what an embarrassment Hitman is. Gaming studios are losing their fucking minds.
I played it a second and third time, and I think I might have been too harsh on it because I was trying to play it like Bayonetta or Dark Souls or something rather than Final Fantasy. It's hard to describe, but I think it's just a real-time version of the basic attack/defend/magic commands in the early games. When you want to attack, you hold circle, when you're about to get hit you hold square, etc.
It's really basic, but I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing considering in the full game you'll have party members, different weapons, more magic, and all that. Square Enix really did a shitty job of conveying what I'm saying, though, because it really does feel like you're supposed to play it like a character action game.

Probably not since its most likely gonna get delayed again anyway.
I do think once it comes out it'll be one of the better JRPGs to release in the past couple of years. P3 and P4 are some of my favorite games and it looks like they're going all out with P5.
They're some of my favorite games too. P5 looks really good, but that also makes me slightly afraid because I know that generally when they keep delaying its because they've set expectations they can't meet. I pray that I'm wrong though, because if P5 is as good as they're making it, I'll spend like two days straight just playing it.

Gaming on your PC is for bottom of the barrel losers and other unwanted elements
PS3/XBOX360 piracy was and still is rampant. It is the same for older consoles. Now excuse me while I play my games at 60fps.
Yeah, I figured you would write something dumb like that. Enjoy the last response I give you!
Pirating games is for children.
It feels good to be a child again! But yeah, if you have the money, you should support the developers.
I'm not against it if you own the game (since it isn't piracy really), or there's no legal way for you to get it (such in the case of emulation, where there are tons of games you can't buy anymore), or you can't support the original developer like with the original Fallout games, but other than that I think you should always support the developer. Maybe I'm just old fashioned in that way because I spend a ton of money on merchandise for anime and games and stuff, but it kind of irks me that some people just pirate a game, play it and don't give back to the developers. I'm just preaching to the choir, though.
Yeah, that's understandable, and it's how I think things should be done. A lot of people on this website though are probably NEETs who don't have money. And I'm guessing if they have the choice between not playing the game or pirating it, they will probably pirate it. Whether they should or shouldn't do that, I don't know.
I don't mind supporting something I like. I am sure most people would be glad to do it, if they could. But not everyone can. In fact many people can't. The very fact someone would say that video games are expensive would mean he doesn't have a lot of money to spent. It is not a lost sale, if it wouldn't have been bought anyway. In fact it can even generate extra buzz. Helping to make something popular is a contribution.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Qkyt1wXNlI Here is a small video about book piracy of all things.
>>15274>A lot of people on this website though are probably NEETs who don't have money.
I'm one of those aforementioned NEETs, I just emulate old games and occasionally spend my money when a game I want comes out. Though it's not much of an issue for me since I have no interest in about 99% of games that come out these days.
I heard it was bad, is this not the case?
I haven't played a single game in the franchise
just starting Animal Crossing because it looks comfy
I want to play it, but I feel kind of bad because I never even finished the first couple areas of Bloodborne. Not sure what made that game less enjoyable for me. Maybe I just don't like playing on console with a controller that much.
Why would that make you feel bad? Not like you're obligated to play and enjoy every game
Nobody commented on Shii's song? ;_;
I got a brand new copy of Katamari Damacy in the mail today, along with Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg and Super Monkey Ball for the Gamecube today. I've spent today playing them, they're all fairly fun games, especially Katamari Damacy.

Yep, 15 years old this year. Doesn't feel like that, does it? I guess since the Wii/PS3/360 Generation dragged on so long it doesn't seem like the Gamecube, Xbox and PS2 were that long ago. There are kids in High school who were born after those consoles came out.

And I skipped the ps3/360/wii generation. I still sorta feel like the gamecube is a system that I can still go out and find games for sale in bargain bins.
I wonder how long it will take until the NES/SNES are replaced by the n64/dreamcast as the old man nostalgia consumer electronics in anime…
Sega Saturn and Dreamcast show up in anime a lot, but the entire videogame culture is completely different in Japan then in the west so probably not for a while. I'll feel really old when they do, though.
Oh man, I used to love super monkey ball when I was younger. I remember it being a blast with friends.
It's worse than I remember it being.
Huh, that's a shame.
It controls very poorly and the difficulty spike is ridiculous. That being said, it's been 13 years since I was 13 so I don't have the same skills that I did back in 2003

I kinda just want to skip the story and get right back into block pushing for Catherine.>>15808>We are proud to announce a time frame for release which might get delayed again. Please be excited.
Animal Crossing New Leaf is pretty fun. Though I wonder why my town flag was a swastika.

No it wasn't.
I like Project DIVA f except I don't like using the touch screen for notes. My poor OLED screen doesn't need to be touched, or else it will eventually be ruined. I never play Miku anymore though since she's old and busted.

Yeah I wish there was an option to use the sticks for notes like on consoles but I'm still enjoying it a lot and thinking about getting the sequel already.
If you don't like the touch screen and you have a PSP, I'd recommend getting the first three games on there, either pirating them or buying them. I own all 3 and I play them more solely because there's no touch screen stuff, but also because the PSP is easier to carry around.

I actually do like the touch screen it feels cool to swipe along with the guitar or dancing sections. I'll probably checkout the psp games in the future but I'm all miku'd out right now.
I don't like to swipe because I'm always afraid I'll scratch the screen.

Too late for me on that front.
Should I get DOA5 for pc? I've seen some people saying it's a shitty port, but mostly because of online play, which I don't care.
Are these amazing naked titty mods I've seen for it avaliable on pc or is it for console only?
Pirate it. And the titty mods are obviously PC only
Of course the mods work a hundred times better and easier on PC than they would for a console. Do this >>16287
with the latest DLCs and then go to loverslab for the mods.
Do pirated dlc work on the steam version of the game?
Probably? At least in my experience with pirated DLC on games I own, most of DLC is just the base game checking if the files are present. So theoretically it should work, since I doubt there is much piracy protection
Yes, but you will be using a crack anyway to run the pirated DLCs and mods made to work as DLCs.
I don't care enough to stay up all night for it, but I hope they at least say whether it's going to have dual audio or not. With all these big name games having it these days, it would be nice to see Persona finally let me listen to something that isn't the awful dub.
The cast of P5 is ridiculous in terms of quality, so it will be an atrocity if we don't get dual audio. I don't care if I have to pay an Atlus tax, the game will definitely be worse if I can't listen to the original audio.
Persona 5, Winter 2018
File: Persona-5-Box.jpg (345.08 KB, 600x752) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
This year, and the North American release is supposed to be 2016 as well.
They also released a 4 minute PV, so go give that a watch if you're interested.
Just visually I like all the new characters revealed way more than the main cast. I hope we get some PS3/PS4 comparisons sometimes before release because I'm not sure if I am going to borrow a PS4 just to play this game.
File: 1462465351067.png (763.11 KB, 951x817) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
All of the footage was probably shot from the PS4, but I can't imagine its going to be much of a downgrade on PS3, considering that's what it was in development for originally, and the main reason it got delayed so much was because of Sony paying them a ridiculous amount for a PS4 port.
I seriously doubt there wont be a big downgrade those crowds in the city were really dense.
Have faith in Atlus
Why does it seem like the Pokemon get worse with each generation?
File: 1290182571351.png (338.86 KB, 900x900) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
I feel so cynical when I say shit like that though, but I genuinely believe that Pokemon was at its best when in the original two generations. It's so cookie-cutter and devoid of any creativity. Mega-evolutions were retarded, they should've stuck with sprites, and I'm not sure why they continue to use the same formula of "team ___ is fucking with "legendary" pokemon and you gotta catch it!"

I haven't been this excited for a game in a really long time.
The english version?
It's been out a while.
Really? Is it not out on iOS yet?
I dunno but i'd imagine it is. They didn't release a new client or anything, just added an english option into the jp client. Try downloading it, you should be able to change the language once you set up an account.
They just added an english option into the jp client? That must explain why I can't find it in the NA app store. Time to set up a Japanese iTunes account I guess. Thanks for letting me know, I've been wanting to play this game for a while now.

I'm a NEET so I can't afford a new phone.
Even if I could, I probably wouldn't buy a new one, since I've had my iPhone for years and it still works. Granted, all I use it for is music, but if it works, why spend money on something new?
But why did you get an iPhone to begin with?
Also try Droid4X it is a nice free android simulator for PC. You will probably be able to play this game on it just fine and without constantly abusing your shitty iPhone. As long as your PC can run it and it is not that heavy. At least try it.
It was my Mom's until she got a phone from her work. Not like I chose it or anything, it was just given to me.
Also thanks, I'll give that a shot.

Might sound stupid, but literally all they talk about on futaba is mobile games, so I decided to post here instead. Are there any actual games coming out you guys are looking forward to? Besides Persona 5, that is.
FFXV looks like it might be nice, but it's Square-Enix so I don't have hope.
I did pirate Stellaris, though I don't have the time to be playing it right now. Also not Japanese. I don't own a console so I am not looking forward to Persona and FF. I wouldn't have anyway. Maybe the new King of Fighters, but it I will have to wait for the PC port, at least it is a sure thing. Other than that I have a bunch of older games to play, some to emulate. What can I say, not a lot of exciting events in gaming.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem like many great JRPGs come out for PC until years after they're out on consoles. Which means that if you want to play any games as soon as possible, you have to spend a lot of cash. How about Persona3/4? Have you played those?
I did emulate Persona 4 a few years ago, but I played probably for two hours before going to bed and never touching it again. Not that I hated it or anything. When it comes to old RPGs I think I would prefer doing the .hack series first. It is different than the anime so that is nice too. Though the last time I played that might have been 4-5 years ago. All four original parts are still on my PC. I am so terrible with how I use my time. I want to do so much, yet I end up doing nothing.

>>16632>I played probably for two hours before going to bed and never touching it again.
That's understandable, both Persona 3 and 4 take about 4-5 hours for them to pick up. Well, Persona 3 actually starts you out from the action right in the beginning, if I remember correctly. I'd say if you have a lull where you have nothing to play, give them a shot as they're both phenomenal games.
>I am so terrible with how I use my time. I want to do so much, yet I end up doing nothing.
I feel you. I was supposed to have started learning Japanese 7 years ago
It seems that I Am Setsuna is getting a PC release, so I might be keeping my eyes on it.>>16632
Time management and idling is probably something a lot of us are chronically struggling with. I have a lot of older games that I had planned on playing but never did.

Oh. I had no clue you could do it in the browser.
Quick Samachan Exclusive Xbox Elite Controller Review
+Build Quality - all the parts feel great. the grips are rubberised which is nice. D-Pad is actually quite nice. Every button feels good.
+Hair trigger switches - theres a little switch on the back for each trigger which can half the distance to the bottom of the button.
+extras - comes in a nice carry case and has a nice long cable.
~Paddles - There are some paddles you can attach to the back and map to buttons on the controller. I honestly don't think anyone uses these because they get in the way of your hand placement but they are ok.
-Runs on AA Batteries - Are you shitting me?
-Price - it's pretty fucking expensive.
-button elevation - it's a pretty specific complaint and applies to other xbox controllers but the face buttons are not at the same height which can make it difficult when you need to push multiple at the same time.
It's the best controller I've used but it isn't worth the price unless you really want it.
This looks amazing, I wish I have a PS4.
>>16733>It's the best controller I've used but it isn't worth the price unless you really want it.
That's just about what everyone who's used it seems to say. It's nice that everyone likes it, but fuck paying $150 for that. I can just get a regular 360 controller and play games practically the same on my PC.

I really need to finish DQII so I can move on to the third, which is where I've heard the series becomes more than just a barebones RPG.
The first one was fun, but the second was so similar I lost interest. I think I'm close to beating it though.
If anyone might want to get into the Dragon Quest series because of this trailer, here's a chart that might help you get started.
I personally like to start games from their beginning entries, but maybe you don't.

REALLY looking forward to Odin Sphere Leifthrasir and Zero Time Dilemma. After all the waiting I'm not even excited for P5 anymore. I'm sure it'll be good though.>>17069

>>17121>After all the waiting I'm not even excited for P5 anymore.
Yeah, I have to say, the so called "hype" for it is dead for me, but I'm still looking forward to it. I just can't be bothered to look up news, or check other things related on it when it's been two years+ past the date it was originally supposed to come out.

>>17121>Zero Time Dilemma
Is this real life?
It is sucks that they won't release the previous game too though.
The DS is easily emulatable, so there's no point for them to release that, and the 3DS is cracked, so its easy to pirate that as well. It makes sense to release it on Windows when you're launching, but not necessarily to go back and make ports for older games.
My point exactly, there is nowhere for me to play Virtue's Last Reward. Porting shouldn't take them too much and it is a fairly popular series. If the PC version sales enough I wouldn't be surprised to see the other two games released soon enough
File: 1455492290188.png (1.97 MB, 3058x1418) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
Zero Time Dilemma is my first import and its from america of all places it's a real shame they won't even release it physically in english outside of america.>>17231
I really can't see them releasing 999 again they would need to fully remake it and it just wouldn't be the same on one screen. Zero Escape has always barely made any money I honestly wonder if a port would be profitable.
Get a vita or vita tv,
problem solved. I bet the sales go way backward because all the neets have a way to pirate on the 3DS and PC now.
With regards to the eroge industry, I'm still saddened by Elf Corporation's bankruptcy.

This looks interesting, I'm glad that Japanese developers are porting their games to PC.
>>17231>there is nowhere for me to play Virtue's Last Reward.
Yes there is, the DS and the 3DS/Vita. The former is easily emulatable and the latter (3DS) is becoming easily emulatable. Or you could just buy the console and game to support the series and have access to tons of titles.
Also, it really is not a popular series, despite you thinking it is. It barely sold enough to get a sequel.

At least Alice still exists. Black Lilith is also good, they did that insanely hot elf slave game Captive Market that had art done by Shindo-L.
Looks good. But it's handled by NISA, so it's not Japanese developers doing it. It's the localization company.
Don't forget to reroll to get a SSR character!
Of course Alice makes great games and Black Lilith makes games that are good erotic-wise.
But Elf offers something different with the likes of YU-NO, Words Worth and Dragon Knight. The likes of which I grew up with. Then again, perhaps the demands on the market and perspective/attitudes on things are just different now.
If I recall correctly there's a doujin where one of the male characters switches genders and finds him/herself in a situation where he/she has to whore him/herself out and the client happens to be the man in that image. Apparently that guy is very annoying.
Is this it?
Yes, that's the one. You were really fast at tracking it down.
I'm a master pervert, and a masturbator.
What would be a good game to play without having to need to be heavily engaged into it and with no story, so I can listen to something in the background? I am talking about PC games and emulatable ones.
The bgm for Umihara Kawase is nice though.
So you want a good game with a shitty background music?
I'm not him, just saying that the bgm is part of the whole Umihara experience.
Yeah, unfortunately I can't think of a lot of games that you can get the same experience by muting the volume and listening to MegaDeth or whatever

Don't bother. It's actually really shitty and soulless. The sort of generic crap some computer would make if you instruct it to make a metrovania/schmup mashup with bunny girls.
FF12 HD just got announced and looks great. The benifit of being the best looking ps2 game and not needing ps3 and vita versions is clear.>>17510

What's the benefit of not needing PS3 or Vita versions? Those are good systems.
Usually when you release on multiple systems you make compromises and lower the quality for the weakest hardware.

It's a fucking PS2 game. They've already released tons of PS2 games on the Vita and PS3 and none of them look fine.
Literally all the trailer looks like is just new textures on the models. Which was basically what FFX HD was.
>>17531>none of them look fine
Heheh, Freudian slip?
What I meant to say is that all of them look fine. Your hate on the Vita and PS3 is unwarranted, especially for a "HD" "remaster" of a ten year old PS2 game.
Agreed on those who say it isn't that great.>>17502
What DQ is your favorite? IV V or VI?
It may sound predictable, but V is the one that hit the spot better than others, but take into consideration that i still have to play VII and VIII (i played 7 hours to the ps2 version but i want to play the whole game on the 3ds for the my first)
I enjoy a lot IV and VI too, the latter is the one with the best gameplay between the first 6 games.

Going to start a Youtube gaming channel and make mad money pandering to 11 year olds
But first, here's an SMT chart for anyone interested in the series.
I tried playing the persona series, i completed the first one and holy shit it got boring and repetitive pretty fast, the story was pretty average too.
With the second one i reached 20% and stopped, the characters were at least more interesting and fleshed out, but the story was too much on the edgy side of narration for my tastes, i keep earing about persona 3-4 but i don't know if i should continue.
Please use proper English.
Guilty Gear > BlazBlue
The first three Persona games are completely different from Persona 3 and 4. I didn't think they were good at all, but some people do. I'd recommend playing P3FES, it's a good game.
I think the term grammar nazi has been tailored for you anon, obviously I (let me guess this capitalization made you hard uh? [and not leaving a space there too i guess] can't wait to see see what errors you will find in this post.
Sorry, but this isn't IRC/Skype, and you shouldn't treat it as such. This is a site for discussion. Don't get mad at me for telling you to conform to how the people here expect you to act. If it wasn't me, someone else would've. It's nothing against you as a poster, all I'm doing is staying proactive in letting people know. I'm not the only person doing it either.
Also, nobody here says "anon" either. It's Anonymous.
Also, please sage your posts if they're not related the thread at large.
I watched a friend play P3 for a little. I don't get the appeal, the battles seemed so bland. Use whatever skill the enemy is weak against, knock them down, repeat. Maybe I should actually play it and give it a chance to actually develop an opinion about it.
P3 at least has it where you only control your character. You can give your teammates tactics, but other than that they're fairly autonomous. It feels a bit more challenging then regular "control the entire party" RPGs.
I will agree that the combat isn't indepth at all. The midbosses and full moon bosses are more than just "Use skill to what they're weak against." The game starts out as that, but as you progress they get harder and a lot of the enemies don't have weaknesses.
I'd say give it a shot. The combat is not where it's at its strongest, but you'll only spend an hour or so in Tartarus getting the month's worth of stuff done if you're smart about it. What I did was as soon as the new levels were available, I'd take everyone to Tartarus and then get to the top floor. Doesn't take too long and leaves more time to S.Link things.
No anon, i am starting to think that you are crazy, i know when i am writing correctly and i think you want to strenuously uphold your personal grammar rules for some reason.
Oh you can keep pointing at what you think is a mistake though, i will stop caring after this post.
Are you the italian dude from the manga thread?
If so, you're doing fine! Keep it up. Just remember to capitalize your I's.
Anyways, skip P1 and both P2 games. The first Persona game is hot garbage and the second two are okay, but still not worth the time in my opinion. Persona 3 and 4 are much better. Play which ever one you like.
File: 1361625677269.jpg (52.74 KB, 500x500) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
Yeah, go ahead and think I'm crazy. You're still wrong, and you're not writing correctly. You can plug your ears and scream how you're doing it correctly all you want, but the fact of the matter is that you're not typing in proper English.>i know when i am writing correctly
*I know when I am writing correctly
See, you clearly don't. You also don't get to make a post telling me how much you don't care, and then tell me how correct you are in the exact same post.
Fuck off, you're wrong. Sage your stupid shit.

Finally got around to finishing the first Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney game on the DS. Had it for years, never got past the Steel Samurai case. Right now I'm on Rise from the Ashes and it's really clear how the DS episode was tacked on a GBA game. I'm doing all sorts of cool shit like rotating evidence, watching 3D animations and other stuff that I didn't do at all in the past 4 episodes.
Kind of funny that the anime is what got me to finally finish up the game after years of not playing it.
Are you sure that you are not samefagging?
Samachan is really small and it's not hard to guess when the same person is discussing with you, if not I would really like to know who the hell are the two crazy people having this much troubles with non capitalization; hell it's the only thing they can point as an error from my posts.
I will try playing the third game.
From the front page->Unique posters: 798
So uh, no?
To the rest of your post, no, they're not crazy, that's just how people here are? Nobody here likes the typical 4chan "I barely put any effort into what I type". Anyways, cut the meta shit out. It's dumb.
If you plan to continue look forward to the third game.
It's the best of the series in my opinion.
Yeah, I plan on buying the second one as soon as I finish Rise from the Ashes. It's hard for me to get into games these days, so for me to play a game for hours like I have this one is rare.

I just finished the first Ace Attorney game, after spending the past 6-7 hours doing the last chapter, Rise from the Ashes.
Man, what a game. That trial was intense. It had me guessing over and over what was happening. And I always feel like a badass when the Cornered theme would start to play.
Going to order and move onto the second one in a few days. Looking forward to it. Hopefully this time it'll take advantage of the DS's capabilities.
Nope sadly, the trilogy is originally for GBA, the only games in the saga that have better visuals are the ones from the investigation series (the second one is a really fucking good game) and the ones on 3DS.

Damn, that kind of sucks, but I guess it's better to have localized ports than to never have gotten the games at all. Still though, I could definitely tell I was playing a GBA game when I was doing the first 4 cases (not that it's a bad thing, mind you).
Anyone have the Steins;Gate Vita port? Is it worth getting?
Koei Tecmo are making a Berserk musou game. At least it looks better visually than the god damn anime. It is launching this year and it is going to be released on steam too.
Is there a certain appeal to musou games? Everytime I play them I inevitably get bored within 5-10 minutes because being ultra powerful and killing a bunch of mobs isn't really that fun.
I have played only Dynasty Warriors 8, though I haven't finished it but not because I didn't like it, but autism. Anyway, the game has a bunch of difficultly levels. The easy settings are extremely braindead and require little to no skill, but if you up the difficulty you actually have to start using the different combos and such and with good timing.
I played Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U back when I had one and even despite the acclaim that game got I didn't find it fun. Certain games for everyone, but even doing the combos and stuff didn't feel satisfying to me. I guess I don't like games where I'm super powerful.
Or you don't like video games at all? In what video game are you not overpowered? It would be a game with no mob characters or something. Even in a stealth game you are technically a super human. I am not even saying Koei's musou are masterpieces or anything, but they are very normal gameplay-centred games. And it is not about doing combos, it is about needing to do them or you will die. Again, download DW8 for example and try playing on normal/hard and up (I don't remember where the line was exactly). Of course that you will be bored to death if you are playing on the braindead mode. Even the most casual of players would probably think something is wrong.

FFXV was worse even than the sport games.

Sony won so hard. And then there was Kojima.
The FFXV VR thing made me laugh, it looks so stupid. Kojima's new project looks interesting to say the least. I'm pretty excited to see what he comes up with.
The final fantasy VR thing gave away a detail they tried to disguise as best as they could in other VR demo videos: the movement is still going to be the same "point at location, press button, teleport to location" boring thing as with all of the VR games that have come out on steam.
Why can't they make the character move ingame like normal? Is there some danger of the player developing some sort of psychomotor illness they're not telling us about?
Sony showed a lot of games just like they did last year. Just like last year, though, I can't help but wonder about how many of those games are actually exclusive.
It looks pretty tacked on to be honest.
I really don't care about the VR, but Sony did try to push it a lot.
The stupid zombie thing that they are pushing is an exclusive, Last Guardian, the mechanical dinosaurs and probably the Detroit game. I could be forgetting something, though. Kojima's game is coming to PC. Still Sony are actually have exclusive. XBOX was "XBOXONE and Windows 10 exclusive" on everything. The very fact that they were just showing games without too much bullshit makes them easily the best so far and there is only Nintendo left.
With all due respect, nobody won, it has been an over hyped show like every year and until the games come out we will not know how many of them will end up being shit.
The kojima's trailer was also comically pretentious and let's be honest, he's complete and utter shit at writing (i still enjoy the corny and cheesy narrative for what it is) and he's really hit&miss with gameplay, I wouldn't put too many hopes on his games.
Where did you find this so called E3 hype? Because I definitely have not seen it. And until Sony everything was a complete trainwreck. No one had anything else to bring to the table other than embarrassment. The games don't really matter, the consoles and the games themselves will sell before we know how the quality of the products.
Was anything actually good shown at E3? I never watch it.
Unless you stay only on samachan you would know that the hype has been present on a low of websites to the point where people kept posting these goddamn tweets multiple times.
Let me understand, all those games for windows/xbox were an embarrassment (dead rising/red dead/tekken/halo wars 2) ?
Miscrosoft choose to release 90% of their games on both platforms, that's only a good thing.
While sony with become human another creation from the worst game designer in the history of triple A games, all that VR marketing, two call of duty which one of them was a goddamn remaster and a cringe worthy teaser from kojima was noteworthy ?
Spiderman was pretty cool and god of war could be decent but sony was filled with junk, microsoft too mind you.
I don't know what shitholes you go to, but depression and pain were the main emotion going around before and during E3.
Other than Tekken you didn't list anything good. And no. It is not a good thing for anyone. XBOX is a pointless piece of hardware and Windows 10 is cancer.
Why are you so upset over the PS4? If you really don't like Microsoft then are you a Nintendo fanboy? Again, I am not even saying it was amazing, but it was compared to everything else, especially when it came to the presentation of things. No side bullshit, just trailers and gameplay. VR is important for them, like it or not, and they actually presented better and bigger VR games than anyone else. Kojima is big no matter how much you personally hate him. And earlier I listen a few other games that are going to make them money easily. Bitch and moan all you want, but Sony have actual money makers and didn't shit the bed when showing their games. For gods sake, I don't even own a PS4. It is simple denial and hate to claim Sony are not the biggest financial and image winners of E3 so far and Nintendo is unlikely to change that.
>Why are you so upset over the PS4? If you really don't like Microsoft then are you a Nintendo fanboy?
Not at all, I am no fanboy.
The fact is that I don't see WIN10 as the new worst possible cancer, it's just another windows, it's shitty and it's needed for now and most importantly it works (I am talking from experience), for the xbox I couldn't care less but it's still something useful for those people shitting themselves at the thought of building a pc.
And saying that only tekken was good it's purely subjective and a way of imposing your tastes since it seems you liked the junk sony proposed.
They have been mediocre just like microsoft but with a better presentation, an I never said that sony isn't "biggest financial and image winners of E3" they are as a matter of image and money makers they surely are.
Can we stay on the topic of Japanese games please? I doubt many people on an anime imageboard really care about a western convention like E3.
File: 1377066767315.jpg (173.44 KB, 1920x1080) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
Agreed. Not sure why they're talking about stuff XBOX or whatever announced. Nobody cares, and half the shit that was written (Halo? Call of Duty?) is not allowed on the site. Just talk about the Japanese games.
Anyways, back on topic. Kind of looking forward to the Persona 5 event, but at the same time it's going to be bittersweet because Japan is getting it so much earlier than we are and they're getting an amazing line up of seiyuus.
Sony is Japanese. And only really hipster anime fans pretend to not care about video games. But this is indeed a very stupid argument.>>17817>And saying that only tekken was good it's purely subjective and a way of imposing your tastes since it seems you liked the junk sony proposed.
You can't be serious. How much projection can you put in a single sentence? XBOX is subjective, but Sony is junk. And so far I haven't even named as single game as being good or bad, so please just stop. I even forgot about God of War and Resident Evil, a sign of how little I care about them. If you are going to admit Sony had the better presentation and are going to make more money from their E3 event what are we even talking about? They are the clear "winner of E3" as long as Nintendo is not going to start printing money with the NX.
>>17823>And only really hipster anime fans pretend to not care about video games.
I used to be really into videogames when I was a kid, but that seems to have basically died as I got older. I can play VNs and JRPGs and still have a good time, but outside of that, everything else seems to just bore me if I'm not playing something from my childhood, like Super Mario World.
All that being said, FFXV was so bad. I remember people saying they were excited for that, what a bunch of idiots. Don't they know that modern SquareEnix can't make a good Final Fantasy game like Squaresoft could?
I wasn't aware that YU-NO is getting a remake for the Vita and PS4.
With Elf having folded, who owns the rights to the IP then?
The new Zelda trailer looks interesting, but not interesting enough to get an NX or Wii U.
FFXV VR looked so goddamn bad, it looks like they modeled it after a 90s arcade shooter game.
5pb. owns it, I think. They're the ones making the game after all.
I've been on the edge over buying Recettear. I don't want to pirate it because all available torrents require extra steps that aren't just download and extract.
If not Recettear, I'll end up getting Roller Coaster Tycoon.
The voice actress for Morgana in the P5 dub is so bad. Never better a time like the present to learn Japanese.

I just completed danganronpa 2, please someone hold me…
Really what and ending, I wanted to complete it before the airing of the new series, which I really hope will give a good closure to the characters of the second game.
I played Danganronpa 1 but not 2, but I've heard Danganronpa 2 is much better than 1. Should I pick it up for my Vita?
Absolutely, it really is an improvement over the first one.
The minor characters have much more personality, all cases are better written and have much more variation, monomi which is the new mascot contrary to my first impression is pretty well implemented in the game narrative and it's pretty fun in her interactions with monokuma.
And the whole story at least in my opinion is much more interesting (and I liked the first game a lot mind you)
And lewd girls of all sizes, play it.
I wanted to fuck Asahani so bad while playing Danganronpa. Haven't lusted for a videogame character in a long time.
We all did, goddamn character design.
Brown skin, blue eyes and a dynamite body. What a girl.
I'm waiting the two sequels so fucking bad.

Do H-Games count?
Is that loosely based off Chiaki Kuriyama?
File: Spoiler Image (82.95 KB, 1200x675) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
No, but it is based on another Japanese woman.
Mighty No. 9 came out, but I heard it's terrible. Is that true?
I'm not buying it either way, though.
I saw a video of the final boss and it was a massive bullet sponge that took like 15 minutes to kill. The idea of the game seems ok but if you want to play a megaman game then do that instead of this.
They are having a decent sale on a lot of japanese games on the PSN, I was thinking of buying The Guided Fate Paradox, but I would like to know if there's something else that it's worth playing from that catalogue.
I don't plan on spending more that 10-13€ since I am already filled with games and also because I plan on buying DQVII at release date, I would like just something good for summer.
Have you played Ar no Surge? I don't know if it's on the sale, but it was a really engaging RPG.
File: 12.jpg (1.64 MB, 1080x3483) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
I did not, it's not on sale unfortunately.
To make things easier I created a list with all the games on sale, i added a green border to the ones I am interested in, so if anyone has an opinion on those specific ones you can share it.
Out of that list.
Ico & Shadow of the Colossus, in my opinion, were pretentious games more concerned about being "art" than they were being actual games. The controls were horrible on the PS2 and I doubt much has changed for the HD port.
Disgaea was fun when I played it back in the PS2 days, so I think it's safe to assume that this is probably the one I played. I think it was the second. It looks familiar.
The Witch and the Hundred Knight is a NISA game and I think it had issues with making PS3s brick.
All and all, I'd go with the Guided Fate game probably. Or get an Atelier game. Those are really good games. Suikoden is also a great JRPG.
Hey thanks for the reply, I played Ico & SotC at time on the ps2 and I have to agree, I just had a sort of nostalgic hitch toward those games lately so I was taking them into consideration.
For disgaea I am actually a sort of fan, I even unlocked the platinum for the third one, so I was thinking "do I wait for a good offer for the physical version in the future ? or I buy it now at a good price ?" I have all the other ones in physical copies so I will probably do the same for D2.
The witch seems fun but as you said guided fate seems the right choice, it's similar to disgaea while having also a makai kingdom vibe plus a lot of new features and a fun story too.
I also played all the suikoden games and I still have a ps1 + CRT when I want the full nostalgic experience, so yeah in the end guided fate seems pretty much the best one for me.
As someone that loves DQ I can tell you that it's normal to find the first two boring, they are proto DQ, too simple, barely a story, grinding with not much reward and the world is bare with not much characterization (the same goes for the characters)
DQ start to shine (you can literally start going "What the fuck happened between the second and the third one ?") with the third one on snes and then take off brightly with DQ IV, please try to play the third one for snes and all the other ones on DS or even android since the forth game has the party chat restored only in that version.

Virtues Last Reward - One of the best games I have played my only real complaint is that different the routes are a bit same-y early on.
EYE divine cybermancy - if anyone wants to play in co-op I'm interested.
Persona 4 DAN - Really terrible opening but it seems to be improving a little.
Soul Sacrifice Delta - not started yet
Suikouden - not started
Muramasa Rebirth - not started
Zero Time Dilemma - In the mail, had to import it to get a physical copy. I'm dropping everything else to play this when it arrives.
I didn't get Persona 4 DAN solely because they recast Rise in the English dub. I'm a fan of being pandered to with fan service, but if I'm not getting dual audio and they're recasting the cast I was okay with, then I thought it wasn't worth it.
I have Muramasa Rebirth on the Vita (got it physical when it came out) and it's a gorgeous game. I had a ton of fun playing it, hopefully you will as well.
The recast really is a shame Laura Bailey is one of my favourite dub actors.
Laura Bailey and Troy Baker were the best things about Persona 4's dub for the main cast. Johnny Yong Bosch doing Adachi was really good too, but him changing his Adachi voice because he had to voice Yu was kind of dumb. Dojima and Nanako are also really good voice actors, but Nanako is just Aigis so that's expected.
I wonder what atlus is going to do for P5 since 2 of their 5 voice actors are too big to star in their new games.
Yuri Lowenthal as the Protagonist, the main love interest, any teacher that talks, and Johnny Yong Bosch as the Protagonist's best friend, Johnny Yong Bosch doing a slightly higher version of his normal voice as the artsy kid, Johnny Yong Bosch doing a slightly lower and slower version of his voice as a creepy guy who eventually becomes your enemy, and then Teddie as Teddie

I actually found the first DQ fairly entertaining. The map was small enough to where I didn't feel overwhelmed, and while it was hard to make sense of what I was doing at time, it wasn't bad enough where I got frustrated.
When I saw the size of the map of DQII and how much grinding I had already done, I quickly got frustrated with it.
I'm definitely going to give III a shot, mostly because I've wanted to get into this series forever, but more importantly because I want to understand all the amazing doujinshi about it. I played one of the Dragon Quest Monster: Joker games on the DS way back in the day, and I remember it being a blast, so I'm hoping the rest of the series is as good as everyone says it is, despite knowing it'll be nothing like that game.
Don't forget Ashley Burch as every girl.
File: 001.jpg (270.17 KB, 999x1400) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
I don't want to create hype, but you are probably going to enjoy the other ones, they revolutionized the formula starting from the third one and did an incredible job from there.
Sounds good, I've heard nothing but praises for the Dragon Quest series. Seriously, it seems like everyone who plays it all have high opinions of the games, where as things like Final Fantasy have vastly divided fanbases.
Any recommendations on what version of III to play? GBC, SFC or Mobile?
SFC and android should be the same, but I played only the SFC version and I can tell that it's really good and pretty much the best one.
I think the reason for the love is because the game as strange as it may sound seems to have a soul, the design, the characters, the world, everything has a charm and every time you play DQ you feel like in the company of an old good friend.
DQ has never been a game with the best graphics but you can easily feel like if you jumped into the game world and you can easily forget what's happening around you (in a good way) the series also try to surprise the gamer with every new game and this stimulate your curiosity.
This is something so fucking rare in videogames that I can hardly name another series like this.
What should i pick up for the steam summer sale?

The DS game I ordered a week ago has been sent back to the postal service because the address was undeliverable. Since I think the guy is trying to scam me, I'm just going to chargeback and buy it again.
While I'm waiting, any Vita games I should get? I'm thinking Steins;Gate might be good, but I've seen the anime. Is the VN better?

P4D really turned itself around I actually quite liked the story post-"reveal", Nanako single handedly saves the first half of the story and is basically the best character surprisingly. Shout out to BONES for the fucking embarrassing animation really showing just how terrible they are.
Ghost Trick or The World Ends With You. Which one should I buy?
File: 61GJQNLUeyL.jpg (72.83 KB, 399x500) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
Pre-ordered pic related today, I haven't been this excited for a game in at least 3 years.
I take it you're either a huge Berserk fan or not a big fan of videogames?
Is it worth getting despite the bad things in it?
Both, but musou games aren't inherently bad, they're just not fun for everyone.
I've always thought Berserk should be closer to the Souls series if it ever gets a game.
File: 1409798181200.jpg (69.7 KB, 453x640) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
For full price I couldn't recommend it I got it 70% off. It doesn't add anything major to the characters and the remixed music is pretty hit or miss. I quite enjoyed it despite those things the special chapter gave me a pretty big desire to jump back into another playthrough of 4G. I would say get it if you are a fan of persona 4 once you get through the first 2 chapters of the story its pretty good.
How's the gameplay? I know it was developed by the Project DIVA developers, but it doesn't look similar when I watch videos about it. Is it fun or boring?
I'm no big rhythm game fan my only real experience outside this game was project diva f and I have to say something about P4D just felt 'off'. I really got into some of the songs but others feel weird. Theres actually one HUGE problem with the gameplay system that you wont notice in normal gameplay but it really hurts your enjoyability of the game so I wont mention it.
I'm playing through SMT: Nocturne for the first time. I played through Persona 3 for the first time about four years ago or so. The SMT series is always reported to be balls-to-the-walls hard compared to the Persona series and I admit, I've certainly struggled. I still think it's bullshit that there's random encounters in fucking buildings but nonetheless, I've certainly come across groups of monsters that were unusually tough. I remember, after I ran out of items, I just started escaping fights and running as far as I could until eventually, after one escape, I found myself in a fight again some fraction of a second later, forced to fight against a gang of eight or so enemies. It was ridiculous.
Currently, after already discovering the Mannikin people, I recently discovered the second entrance to the Underpass through the "Hiromi" warehouse (I think that was the name). It took me a couple of visits to realise that the steel door at the back of the first room was actually a door that you could enter.
The Mannikin that runs his own junk collection thing can recommend the guard lets me go to Ikebukuro but I have to get him a bill by first exploring some kind of city. I'm having an okay time with all of this. I haven't fused a single Persona yet though and I haven't befriended many Personas either since I'm still in the SMT: Persona mentality of killing everything I see.
You mean Demons, right? They're not Personas in Shin Megami Tensei, that's only in the Persona series.
Regardless, you're going to need to get some allies if you want to beat Matador.
I finished today Binary Domain, some cover shooter published by Sega and developed by the "Yakuza team". Very generic and even somewhat boring at places gameplay, but it had its moments thanks to the setting and the cheeky action hero characters. Also a cute Chinese sniper that shoots people with a sniper. I would recommend playing it as something relatively brainless to play but fun nonetheless.
Just so you know, to get the best ending you need to have 3 bars of trust with all the Rust Crew members, the other characters you meet don't matter. In the first levels choose to play with Bo and the English members. Later you get plenty of time with the Chinese sniper and the French robot no matter what. Also after meeting the Japanese loli be sure to talk with the people in the street. You can get a boost for the trust meters.
Nocturne has to be one of the best jrpgs there is, everything about it is just perfect. I wish the other games in and related to the series were closer to its direction but alas, it seems to be heading in a different path.
I tried playing it with my controller and for some reason r2 was up and l2 was down, select was aim and start was fire. The way to fix it exceeded my desire to play it so I played something else.
I would guess it is a problem with your controller, because I am using a DS4 made to work as an XBOX controller and it was working just fine with the default settings. Using the config exe shouldn't be hard anyway. The real question would be, why the hell would you not use your mouse and keyboard? Also don't bother with the speech commands
What are you asking? Are you asking why she did that?
Are any of you on Fightcade? I've been searching for a new game to play after I lost interest in Spelunky. Though the only games with a decent amount of players seem to be kof 2k2, 98 and SF33S. I with more people played Zero Alpha 3
I was thinking of asking my aunt to get me a 200 dollar arcade stick, but I didn't want to ask for something that expensive. She ended up coming back home (for a vacation) with even more expensive trash no one was asking for. By the end of the year I might make my case about it and I will probably post here asking people to play something with them.
i got mine (Madcatz FightstickPro) for 100 bux and it works well
I have been wanting a Real Arcade Pro.V Hayabusa. It is 100 dollars too, but basically it costs a 50-60 dollars more to deliver to the USA and from there to some more to be delivered to me. Where I live they don't sell any fighting sticks at all. And as far as I know Madcatz have a bad name.
Here is something old and dead:
It's a decent stick, cant complain. You could even make your own if you're really short on cash
Anyone have any good games that are summer themed?
File: Untitled-1.jpg (911.47 KB, 1920x1080) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
I beat Catherine again and its still as good as I remember, still my favourite game. Thinking about doing Babel if anyone has it on PS3 and wants to do co-op. Doing it in co-op cuts about 100 blocks of height from the hardest babel level so it would definitely make it easier to work together.>>18989
It's hard to think of any games where summer is the main theme maybe try:
…the level in mario 3 where the sun chases you
Super Mario Sunshine is summer themed

Everyone's excited for Persona and other games, but this is the PS4 game I'm looking forward to the most. Hope we get a stateside release.
Do you guys think Jami raped Bianca with his giant horse cock?
EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 4.1 is out on steam. In a few hours it will probably be on kat.cr too.
As much as I would love it thats never happening.
Here is a link to the game

I'm not interested in Pokemon GO in the slightest, but I think the concept paired with SMT would be really interesting.
Well, it would fit with the whole original Megami Tensei concept of Digital Devil.
I'm not interested in the whole scene either but following its success I wouldn't be surprised if more clones were to appear. With the popularity of Dragon Quest and seeing as how they already have a Minecraft clone, DQ is another game that could probably work well.
An SMT themed pokemon GO type game sounds great! I've been having fun with pokemon GO though too, so just thinking about something like that makes me excited.
While I despise the losers that masturbate over the thought of "the community" and being part of something, I actually like the game. As far as catching pokemon goes. I was lucky with my location and I have gotten so far 178 pokemons from home. On the other side only 34 different ones Pokedex entries. The problem is that the pokemon battle system is gone, there is no 1vs1 head to head battles and no trade at the moment. It is casualization up the ass with a touch of early access AAA mobile game.
Well they might add that later.
For now you got the arena battles which are a clickspam fest in my opinion.
As I read about doding through swiping I thought it was a great idea and adds some depth, but when trying it in an actual battle it didnt work at all. The attack hit to the left, I dodged 2 times to the right and still got hit while I clearly see the attack two fields next to me (?).
It's also funny to see how many people are actually playing this. I live in a small village and went to our park with two of these baits activated on pokestops, I saw about 20 people staring at their phone.
I almost wanted to talk to them but I can't talk to other people so I just catched some pidgeys and walked away.
Yesterday there was a Slowpoke at the block ahead of me. I couldn't bring myself to go out and catch it. I am too paranoid about looking like an autistic retard.
As I said that a Vaporeon spawned on a 3 minute walk away from me, but I just can't bring myself to go. Instead I will go in fetus position and cry.
At least you guys can play it, I live in the rural parts of America on property my parents own and I don't think the game will work since we own a few miles of land and its a 30 minute drive to the nearest populated area
There is no reason for the game to not work. It will work. It is just doubtful there will be any close pokestops and maybe not even a lot of pokemons. Install and at least see what is there around you. Actually if you give me GPS coordinates I can scan around you and post a picture of the scan.

It is 3AM and this game has me shedding tears like I'm a hormonal teenager again.
I have chills, an empty hole in my heart, and sadness all mixed into one. I can't really describe it.
Sorry, realized it could be a potential spoiler by proxy.
I just played Persona 3 through for the first time, myself, and I thought it was fucking amazing. I didn't get as many of the S. Links as I wanted to (still have no idea about the Devil Arcana or that dude at the bar), but I did well on my own without picking up guides (except for learning some of the fusions). Overall, I can't wait to run back through it when I finish up a few other games on my to-do list.
It really was an amazing game, wasn't it? I've played through both Persona 3 FES and Persona 4 Golden and gotten 100% S. Links, and it made for an awesome time. They're some of the few 80+ hr RPGs I have played more than once.
File: Spoiler Image (444.48 KB, 900x900) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
Aye, I thought so! I played P3P, though, so if I want to run back through, I can't do it on the PS2. That's a bit of a bummer, but I do want to check out 100% S. Links, so I'm pretty sure I'll run through one more time on Portable, or perhaps, I'll play FES through twice. I'm leaning towards the second option because my PSP has no battery and lives only on the power cord, making neck-craning a problem…
Any favorites of the girls, though? I adore Aigis, myself.

You missed a great experience by playing P3P first, in my opinion. I think you should definitely play it on PS2, even if you already played as the male MC. FES is the definite Persona 3 experience.
Aigis is definitely my favorite out of the P3 girls, her interactions with the world are really cute. Does P3P have her S. Link for the Male MC? I remember doing in FES but I only played the female route of P3P.
Yeah, P3P has the Aeon Social Link with Aigis, playing as the male MC. I know if I do run through FES I'll definitely be heading right back over to her. And yes indeed, those interactions are some of the best kind of cute I know of.
I only did the male run since this anon is male, and I wanted to experience it as I would if I was actually placed in the world itself (that's what I was thinking when I started, anyhow). Also, the reason I got P3P first was that it just happened to show up when I was browsing my local video game trade/buy/sell store, and I remembered hearing a lot of recommendations for it. Really happy I ended up picking it up, to be quite honest. :D

I just finished it a few weeks ago and I totally agree Aigis is the best.
Yeah, Aigis I think is the only one who really truly loves you. Yukari flips out over your death in The Answer, but other than that in Ultimax she didn't seem to care much. Though P4A showed that maybe it's canon that P3MC fucked all the girls, or that he fucked Mitsuru, because she talked about how much MC was special to her

Nijiura May really likes the idea of SMT GO.
Sorry for the lateish response, I used Poke-Vision to see if any spawns near me and it doesn't. Unfortunately for me too the place I live is so country that my cellphone doesn't work unless it's on wifi. Living in the boonies sucks
Pokevision is shit. It is like they are trying to fuck it or something, but https://github.com/AHAAAAAAA/PokemonGo-Map/ is still better and without missing results. If you want something on your mobile (though there are ways to use Pokemon Go Map through your phone) there is the android app https://github.com/BrianEstrada/PokeScanner/ based on Pokemon Go Map. The android scanner has higher data usage than the game itself, but together for 15 kilometres or 4 hours used in total no more than 150mb and with a lot of scanning done.
Walked outside because I saw a Pinsir on the nearby Poke
on, but only caught Pidgey and Rattata. Also sunburnt.

Should I make a Pokemon Go thread?
I just more so want to know if anyone would post in it.
Also should I make it here or on Everything Japan?
Caught an Eevee and a Bulbasaur within three minutes of each other. Not bad, I think.
How is the new online GitS game?
Since when? I thought Sony made it un-hackable.
I think it's just custom firmware
Theres a new one on the latest firmware that installs an app to the system just by clicking a button on a website, really cool stuff. It's not custom firmware and there's no way to pirate games yet but it's really opened the system up you can browse the file system, make custom themes and run native vita and psp homebrew apps like quake and doom and a bunch of emulators.
Anyone else plays RoTK or Nobunaga's Ambition?
No talk of blazblue? The best fighting game ever?
I've been meaning to play RotK XIII with PUK once I have time in a few weeks, how was the PUK?
Actually, I haven't played the PUK version. I was waiting for it to be released but eventually forgot about it.
There is a new Nobunaga's Ambition in the making, SoI and Ascension was very good, I'm looking forward to it. I hope they would actually implement elements from both NA and RoTK in future titles. I think the RoTK series has become relatively stale in recent years, the last best release was probably X/XI.
I play PSO2 off and on, and I find it pretty fun, maybe we could make a samateam or something, I heard that getting started is a lot easier than when I did it a couple of years ago too.
I'm always up for other games too though, so any suggestions would be cool!
There's always FFXIV…
How does one get started with PSO2? It seems like it could be fun. Would be neat if Samachanners were all in a guild or something together.

Registration and set up have changed a lot since I did it a couple of years ago, but it looks to be a lot easier.
Here's a link that'll guide you step by step on how to download and register for the game
Here's a tutorial on how to set up the English patcher. The game isn't fully translated, but all the important stuff is, like item descriptions, enemy names, quests, character names, the whole character creation menu etc. The only thing its missing that might be a drawback for some people is that the story has very little translated.
also here's the page where you can download the tweaker so you can do the steps in the guide above.
Arks layer has their discord linked right on the tweaker, and they're really quick to help out with any technical issues, so if you run into any problems your best bet is to ask them.
Most of the English players play on ship 2, that's where I mostly play too, but if you guys want to make the samaguild on another ship I don't mind making a new character.

What always annoys me in these games is how a military officer dresses in fucking armor when they're in a debate, but a civil officer is denied half the game.
I've never played any of them, what do they play like? Grand Strategy games?
There's an element of roleplaying to it too.
Can you bed her?
How does the battle system in this game work?
You basically smash doomstacks into each other, though you need to equip armies and send them with supplies. If your PC is actually in the battle then you can take direct control and it's kind of like total war but a lot simpler and much less pretty. Most of the game revolves around the economy and diplomacy, since your cities have population, soldier training, food production etc. and the most common way to get shrekt is running out of soldiers to recruit while Cao Cao barrels at you with a zillion people.
I see, that sounds pretty fun I guess, I always enjoy strategy games where your faction has an actual population to take care of instead of just summoning thousands of young men from a town you just sieged and burnt down.
Too bad there's only one English company that really makes grand strategy games anymore, and they're all watered down casual shit not worth playing at all.
Talking about Paradox?
And yeah, Luoyang for example (Dong Zhuo burns it down via event, as historically) is literally rubbish, you have to put massive investment to get anything worth jack out of it and it literally loses money from taxation because it's a burnt out husk.
It can still muster around 10k people, I think, but that doesn't mean anything because the recovery rate is immensely slow and since this is China, most cities can turn out 40k a month or so (until you drop population too low, then that city is basically useless).
the mods fix all of it
I do. The PUK makes it a little more interesting but ultimately it still gets old quickly. They should implement the ability to build new cities like in Nobunaga's Ambition, I also like some elements from past games that have gone missing such as the ability for officers to rebel from their warlords and form their own force. Coincidentally NA:Taishi was recently released in Japan and East Asia but it seems that the review was pretty bad, shame as I really enjoyed the previous NA.
I feel like building a new city would be largely pointless because Chinese population centres were just so much fucking bigger than Japan's, so you'd essentially be building a fort.
I suppose the developers are in line with you. I guess I like the management aspects of these games more than just the battles and the idea of being able to develop an impoverished, backwater area into a flourishing stronghold is attractive to me. I feel that it would also give more leverage and variety to the gameplay. The thing with rotk 13 is that the map is so vast but looks empty especially outside of central China, such as the south. Although that is of course, historically accurate.
Has anyone been following Dynasty Warriors IX? What're your thoughts on it so far? We know that it's going to be open world, and accordingly all officers have a casual outfit (fairly lazy casual outfit though). Also, sole new female character. She's historically known mostly for being an intelligent snarker towards generals and her husband.>>22963>>23368
This isn't a Japanese videogame but
Total War: Rome II with DeI does basically exactly what you want
There's legitimate population statistics, like 'able bodied men', and they're divided into categories even so when you conquer a new city you can't even recruit your own troops, you need to recruit foreign unit types until your people start settling in and you convert the population into your culture
There's also supply lines (literally) and baggage trains (it's a unit and you need it for long campaigns), and also stuff like modifiers to income and so on that depend on how densely populated a certain region is and so on.
They ruined LLQ and made her look ridiculous and took away her weapon
I hate it
Is there any good games on PS3? I installed RPCS and Demon's Soul but it runs like shit on my PC.
I think they've all moved to PS4 now
I need a PS4. The fighting game scene is small and otaku stuff in general is mostly west shit on PC.

I've been playing Ace Combat 3 lately and found it odd that there was so little in the way of story. I had read that it was pretty heavy on it, with animated cut scenes and a lot of dialogue, but there was nothing about the story save for a short paragraph at the very beginning that said some evil megacompany was doing bad things.
So I looked it up and it turns out that the only "real" version of AC3 was the japanese one, they cut the story and 20 missions out from the western release for some reason.
Thankfully there's an english patch for the japanese version now, so hopefully I can get it working.
>>24218>So I looked it up and it turns out that the only "real" version of AC3 was the japanese one, they cut the story and 20 missions out from the western release for some reason.
Censorship? Maybe it was like super bloody cutscenes or some shit? I know that randomly got cut for old games.
Catherine is good. Ar Tonelico is great too.
Couldn't they have just subtitled it or something
they should have at least tried. How else are you supposed to know that your squad mate is a cute girl who's allergic to light.
I'm about as far into the game as I was in the NA version now, and its honestly shocking how much more enjoyable having a real story and characters makes this game. The NA version had small descriptions about each mission but you never really got what was going on in the big picture, or why or who you were fighting.
>>24279>How else are you supposed to know that your squad mate is a cute girl
That's probably why, they didn't want the game to look too "anime", or else they wouldn't be able to market it to Americans who obviously don't want any sissy shit like plot or cute girls getting in they way of the plane combat action, right?
That's always been the case for localization; companies import a Japanese product, but god forbid it appear foreign at all, so they cut 50% of the content and shuffle the rest, change all the onigiri to jelly donuts, get some crack whores off the street to cold-read an original English script, and bam! Easy money! Oh, those people who wanted a Japanese game when they bought a Japanese game? Fuck 'em!
Sometimes I hate these people so much I cannot sleep.
Speaking of Ar Tonelico, I've been playing the first one for a while but it's starting to get grating and I keep losing the characters I like to the plot. Is it worth completing before I jump to AT2? I hear it's supposed to be a lot better and the stories are mostly unrelated.

do you sex this thing
Nah it's just an enemy type. You can fuck the Grim Reaper but not a dumb ghostie.
>>25903>Now that it's getting closer to being completely un-NISA'd (by NISA), the game itself is really shining through
Wait, what does that mean? Is NISA not being full of shit for once?
If you kept up with this, NISA delayed the release of Ys 8. It was supposed to release in September, but they found a lot of unacceptable bugs and general translation errors in the game; they called off the September release and had a closed beta (I was in that). They ended up contracting a software dev who was directly involved in DirectX development during his time at Microsoft to solve a bunch of framerate/particle issues. There was a lot of stuff that WAS fixed, but when the game released about a month ago at this point, it was like all of the changes they made were reverted. Everything is stabilizing for now, but NISA's been repairing things, just like what happened with their Disgaea 1 release.
I'd rather not talk about NISA because people just tend to latch onto things that get them angry.
To be fair the only thing I know about NISA is that people like to hate them and they do neptunia.
