Is it really that good? I was actually planning on watching it just for the Baphomet-looking dude on the cover shot.
Guess I'll be watching it as soon as I get home then.

I think the show would have been better if it was a shota with a monster girl instead. (It'd have been easier to self insert then too)
I'm like, super not interested in self insertion. Monster boy and normal girl is a pretty decent breath of fresh air. Now all we need is a fighting shonen with a girl who's consistently stronger than the MC and *not* a love interest.

You don't want a monster mommy?
Shoo, go back to your /z/ thread, this anime is actually good and not fetish bait.
I don't, really. I'm into older sisters, and not the type who are a full 13-16 years older than me either.
See, that's a Wight, and Wights are not particularly powerful undead. I only date arcane fullcasters.
Has the manga finished now?
was it actually good?
I dropped it a couple chapters in.
I just picked it up, dunno if it's finished. It looks pretty good though, dunno why you dropped it.
Just here to patch up this leak… a massive case of 2D/Everything.
Not for another three days. I just wanted to make sure everyone who was interested knew about the OVAs beforehand.
Yeah I just went and read the source material
This is pretty damn compelling so far, definitely a hard follow.
Is there suffering in this show?
What else this season can even stand up to it?
I've waited patiently a whole year to see the OVA in its entirety. now I contemplate waiting another year to get to see the show in full BD quality.
Is it weird that I got hard watching her chain herself
Also the bath scene was pretty cute.
You got burned by an original anime with a retarded plot, so now you're worried about an adaptation of a manga that everyone says is great, done by a team who's already proven themselves to be competent?
I was about to add "and who ever thought R:C would be the best anime of its season in the first place" as well, but in retrospect, spring did not have a lot to offer. Still, you should know better than to pin your hopes on anything so flimsy.
If there's one redeeming factor about Re:Tards it's that Hime didn't actually get fucked up by some plot device power in the end.

Ainsworth is spooky as hell
Yeah the art and music direction is on point in this show
The series isn't really about magic, but she's definitely not a dasmel in distress. The ending of the episode is misleading. I'm not sure if it'll get to the point I'm talking about, but you can read the manga if you like.
Yeah, they could have filled in the time with a close up of the other creatures accompanying her instead of a close up of her breasts, but oh well, its just a few seconds. And its not like it was displeasing
, it just felt a bit out of place for a show like this. It was still fun meeting new characters and getting to know a bit more about Elias though.
Maybe for you, but I enjoyed it.

Heh, even Shitkaku sounds surprised.
We seem to have hit the first shounen battle arc, at least, dunno if that's really the same thing.

Kinda disappointing that the big bad turned out to be such an insufferable faggot, though.
He's not really the big bad so far if the manga is anything to go by
Oh, that's a relief. You reckon he's going to show up any more in the anime, keeping in mind that it's two-cour?
Hold up it's 2cour?
Er, there's a passable chance. The next time he shows up though is the beginning of a new arc, so I think they might end it right before that.
The Sidhe is super cute, though her story kind of ends on a bad-ish note.

Anyone else still watching this?
Looks like they're starting to ramp up the drama.

Oh, I didn't see your post. I guess three months late is better than nothing huh. It still hurts
I'd managed to stay optimistic about this through the first cour, but it really hasn't changed at all since then. It has a great premise and world, and could have been quite fun while still having plenty of room for character development and the occasional emotional episode, but the whole thing has just been such a downer. I was really hoping that the halfway mark would be a turning point, where Chise finally accepts herself and Elias and their relationship, and the mood would pick up, and their real adventures would begin, but no, it's been episode after episode of either characters throwing tantrums and then sitting around talking about how sad they are, or drama based on magic being fucking useless and/or everyone in the world being an edgy dickhead for no reason.
Was I a fool to expect enjoyment from this series? Did everyone else know that it was going to be misery all the way through?

Even though I let the episodes pile up sometimes I still ended up enjoying this one. I probably would have had less trouble keeping up watching them all when they had stopped airing (especially the later episodes), but oh well.
Did anyone else here finish this one?
Yeah. The last few episodes actually started to get kind of interesting, and I was enjoying them, but then the ending felt like a lame anticlimax, and also made me second-guess my understanding of what had even been happening beforehand.
As a whole, I had a lot of problems with the series, but the mere thought of sorting them out into words is already making me tired, so I'm happy to just pack it away in the archives and forget I ever watched it.
