yeah that goes for a lot of shows
btw in case anyone cares Hina Logic was wonderfully bland right to the end
Oi I liked it faggot
hey I liked it too!
Please. Just as 30-year-old elite-NEET eyebag cuties don't actually exist on the internet, MMOs are not actually fun to play in real life.
speak for yourself, but i'm a 29 year old elite NEET cutie
I enjoyed the first episode, but I would really prefer if the show focused more on her NEET life instead of her game life. I've already seen too many MMO-inspired anime.
you'd be surprised
Samachan is ran by a 30 year old elite NEET
one excellent season after another
truly the golden age for anime
Gonna, pick this up
stinky samagirls are the best
I'm starting to really be interested in where this is going. Can romance between a NEET and a riajuu ever work?>>22637
Probably. In my experience, if it exists and has even a tangential impact on one's appearance, women will worry about it.
Corporate Moriko sounded like she was about ready to jump out the window.>>22643>In my experience
It's not good to lie, samanon.
If you ERP as a female and you're male, and you do it with a male who's actually a female, is it still gay because you're pretending to be a girl and they're a guy (you don't know they're a girl) or is it straight because they're actually a girl?
I usually go for perceived truth, so while trapfags are gay (since they like the trap specifically because it's a trap), people who get trapped aren't (since until the pants come off, the trap is by definition indistinguishable from a girl). I mean no one can call you gay for being attracted to a feminine figure, I'd imagine. So basically it's HA GAAAAYYYYY
How are you getting trapped though? There's no trap involved since it's online. It's just catfishing, really.
But it's a man pretending to be a girl, who's having erotic roleplay with a male character (who is a girl in real life) but neither of them know this.
So from the male perspective, he's pretending to be a girl so he can fuck guys.

Everything has come crashing down for Morimori. Her secret will be revealed to her online friends!
I'm really enjoying this MMO. It makes me nostalgic for the days when you could make friends in western MMOs. Now playing any western MMO without people you already know feels like pic related.
It's terrible. Probably a result of the weird concentrating and monopolizing of the internet.

Yeah, it's probably mostly that. More people are opting to play with their real life friends in online games rather than playing on a community server for an online game or just trying to find a guild or something in an MMO.
It's really sad, because some of my strongest friendships have come from games like WoW, CounterStrike and others. I've been friends with these people for 10+ years and it's really improbable of making new friends these days.
Chat programs like Teamspeak and Discord really hurt online games too, because people just go on voice with their friends through that instead of using voicechat or all chat in the game they're playing.
Oh well. I'm just a relic of a bygone age, I guess.
It makes me really sad because I feel like one of the best things about the internet is the ability to talk to people you'd never meet in real life.
The saddest thing is your friendships drifting apart because your game you played died
this series makes me want to play an MMORPG
however, should I pick a male or a female character?
As a girl if you want to find girls, everyone that plays as a guy in MMOs is a girl. Also what MMO are you thinking of playing?
I really don't know. I haven't seriously played any MMO besides FlyFF (reach lvl 61!), and that was YEARS ago.
now I downloaded Guild Wars 2 & Aura Kingdom, mostly because both are free
Have fun! Hopefuly you'll find a cute 30 year old elite neet out there!
You don't need to find one when we've got one running Samachan
Goddamn you, I was going to post this as my image.
Cute episode. A bit outlandish for non Japanese people (or I guess people who don't live in a small country with a big city) but nonetheless still really enjoyable. Excited for episode 6.
Messy NEET Morimori is cute and I want to cuddle her forever, but she's legit beautiful with her new haircut.

I've given it some thought, and I realized Made in Abyss would make for an excellent MMORPG setting.
I think so too. She cleaned up amazingly well.
More like picked up. She's cute as hell when she's cleaned up.
Nothing cute about it, she looks like any riajuu. Not a single charm point to be seen.
Now that I think about it, this episode really killed my respect for Moriko, and the series as a whole. It already started out on thin ice with the whole 'women playing video games' thing, but that wasn't so bad because Moriko seemed to be one of those characters who's nominally female but really just acts like a guy. But then at the first sign of male attention, she completely throws away the lifestyle that she supposedly loves so much and goes full tryhard succubus mode, spending all that money and effort just to turn into a generic abomination because she's so desperate for validation from her normalfag ex-coworker that it outweighs everything she supposedly cares about.
I'll give it another episode or two, but at this point Moriko seems to have outed herself as being shallow, disloyal, and pathetic.
I was gonna say "U mad" but then I thought about it. I think you're kind of on to something, but maybe you're being a little too black & white in your thinking.
Like Morimori, I'm in my early thirties. I've more or less resigned myself to being forever alone because I hate riaju. That being said, if a woman expressed interest in me, I'd probably give her the benefit of the doubt at least at first, because sometimes the loneliness gets soul-crushing.
I'll be really disappointed if Morimori ends throwing away who she is to get dick, but I don't blame her for trying to make a connection.

Man, you really let your hatred of women blind you so much you missed any sort of reason on why she's doing it.
You don't really think that girls can't play videogames, do you? The admin is the only one who even posts in the videogame thread here.
That's besides the point though.
The point here being is that you seem to think that Japan is a society without culture obligations, or that what you would do in a situation like that is how a Japanese character should act.
She already made it clear that she didn't want to go. She agreed though, because the Japanese are passive. They'll say one thing, but they really mean another.
I think you'll try to respond with something like "but he's saying its a date!!!" which is because he's taunting his coworker who talks about Moriko a lot around him.
It's not a date. Moriko isn't treating it like that. It's a social obligation to do that sort of thing when someone you know invites you out.>goes full tryhard succubus mode, spending all that money and effort just to turn into a generic abomination because she's so desperate for validation from her normalfag ex-coworker that it outweighs everything she supposedly cares about.
Yes, just because YOU as an individual think that going to something that someone you barely know outside of a job you used to work at in your basketball shorts and a greasy stained t-shirt that hasn't been washed in two weeks, all while you haven't washed in two weeks either is okay, doesn't mean that it's okay for most people.
She's spending the effort and money because, yet again, Japanese social obligation. It's someone who knows her, so her face could be marginally tarnished if she doesn't uphold her obligations.

Now, I know what you're also thinking. "THIS DOESNT MEAN SHE HAS TO DRESS LIKE A WHORE, FUCKING WHORES GODDAMNIT I FUCKING HATE WHORES ALL WOMEN ARE WHORES" but see, yet again, she didn't want to go. That doesn't mean she doesn't have to look appropriate. She isn't trying to fuck this guy, she doesn't want to go out drinking with him (because she's evaded going out to eat with another man via text message, she just can't really do that in person), but she has to look appropriate because he knows her, and he knows people she used to work with. It'd marginally ruin her reputation if she didn't look the part.
Was she being a "tryhard succubus generic abomination desperate for validation" when she dressed that way when she was employed? No, of course not. That's fucking stupid.>outed herself as being shallow, disloyal, and pathetic.
Shallow to what? Because she's not willing to go to a meeting with someone in public in a track suit and no make up?
Disloyal to what? Being a TruNEET or some shit? I don't even know what you're trying to say. Disloyal to the NEET lifestyle? I've been a NEET before, and I'll be a NEET in the future. It doesn't mean you can't look nice or go do things.
Pathetic? How? Because she was too submissive to refuse an invitation to go out and get drinks from someone she barely knows? I don't really think that's pathetic. That's just how submissive people are.
let's play a game of "spot the virgin"
You acknowledged that she's socially submissive yet claimed that she's not pathetic practically in the same breath.
Regardless, you're basically saying that it's all okay, or all makes sense, because she's Japanese. That may be true. It's hard for me as an American to see things any other way; if I don't want to go to something, I don't go. But there's still a difference between making the minimal socially-acceptable effort and gleefully jumping into totally changing yourself.>You don't really think that girls can't play videogames, do you?
Come on, you should know better than to take otaku-pandering cliches seriously. You really think people like Moriko or Lilac exist in real life? You really think the admin of this anime imageboard is a woman? Of course not, that just doesn't happen in the real world. I'm not "hating" anyone for acknowledging that, just stating facts.
She literally is a woman though. Trust me, post her nude pictures and see how quickly you get perma’d. Plus if you were around in 2015 she was pretty open about it.
Socially submissive isn’t pathetic. That’s just how some people are. Can’t claim they’re “pathetic” for that, especially when its culturally beaten into them from birth.
She also isn’t gleefully doing it. She’s stressed about it, doesn’t want to spend the money because she keeps comparing it to lootboxes, and she doesn’t want to be seen buying that stuff. Did you really just ignore everything she said because you were so mad at it?
Not mad so much as disappointed, and mostly upon reflection rather than during the episode.
Anyway, I still disagree. Moriko said from the very beginning that she's proud to be an elite NEET; she happily made the decision to drop out of participating in normal society and become the kind of person who stays inside and plays netgames all day. (And by the way, I can't believe I'm defending someone playing an MMO, let alone one with gacha, a strong contender for the most evil scam-disguised-as-game ever created, but whatever. That's what Moriko claimed to like.)
Now, I'm willing to buy that her Japanese blood compels her to go meet with this guy, that's all well and good. But if she were really an elite NEET, it would only go as far as fulfilling this social obligation. That is, getting 'cleaned up' to the extent of looking presentable in public.
But she goes way beyond that. She asks around for fashion advice, gets her hair styled, buys fancy clothes, puts in all this effort to not just look presentable, but to try to hide who she really is. That's the part I really don't like, that despite having supposedly chosen to leave society behind, she's too cowardly or vain or uncommitted to dare let anyone else see that she's done so. She's still clinging on to requiring validation from normalfags, placing that above being who she claims to really be. And she tries to act reluctant about all this, but goes through with it anyway. So I think she's still a riajuu at heart, just roleplaying as a NEET. And posers are the worst.
I don't know what this show is even offering me but it's weirdly good.
I've been unable to feel any sympathy for Moriko after she lost her eyebags.
Oh, and I almost forgot after the rest of the episode, but that Arai Satomi recap narration was a real treat.
It's like half of her charm, what are these animators getting paid for?
I have never in my life heard of a white person with a Japanese last name
Are there any cases of white people being adopted by Japanese people?

You've never heard of the greatest wap of all time?
Damn, I live like an hour away from where this guy used to live in the States.
Should I aspire to become a White Samurai like him?
Sadly, I think he's the product of a bygone age, but hey, dare to dream.
I want to do it, but I don't have any skills to do it. I'm not college educated, not talent, not anything!
Oh well. I'll aspire to be the world's best imageboard poster. Be sure to read my autobiography called "The post of the ages: the Anonymous story"

The spaghetti was pretty cute, yeah, but good lord is Sakurai a pathetic herbivore faggot, and Mori's constant crying about her appearance doesn't help either. Neither of them deserve such a wonderful fated encounter.
That was the most mediocre thing I've ever watched. I'm glad it's over and I hate this ambiguous end shit.
>>23424>That was the most mediocre thing I've ever watched
I guess you haven't watched much, then.
Yeah honestly this isn't even that bad.>>23384
Where the heck do NEETs get savings from? NEETs either sponge off their parents and friends or they take subsidies from the government.
If they're one of those strike-it-rich types then they'd just be retired and not a NEET.
>>23428>Where the heck do NEETs get savings from?
Did you watch the show? She had an office job she hated and she quit to spend all her time playing MMOs.
She saved up a ton of money from working. It's why gacha games and such are so big in Japan, because they don't have a lot of expenses that aren't living expenses because their lives consist of "Go to work, go home and sleep, wake and repeat" so they spend all their money on games like that because it sits there if they don't.
I'm being a little hyperbolic of course, but this is the embodiment of forgettable seasonal.
Oh yeah, definitely. I don't think anyone will be talking about Net Juu in a season or two. It's a season filler, that's it.
I know that much but I honestly don't think an office job would give her so much disposeable income / savings.
I honestly got actually angry when you had people nearing 30 acting like virgin teenagers, it's such a ridiculous cliche
At least the NEET looks fairly nice when she cleans up.
