Spring has arrived.
LoGH's redesign looks like garbage and I don't know what they were going for. It feels almost like a yaoi show's character design.

What, if anything, are you watching this season?

File: 2018-spring-2.jpg (3.41 MB, 1920x5738) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

Yuru Camp OVA, get hype.
I can't believe they're doing Gegege, it seems completely out of nowhere.
Mahou Shoujo Site feels like a tryhard as fuck Magical Girl Project, like the culmination of all the magical girl suffering shows since Madoka.
Steins;Gate might be good and I'll probably keep an eye on it.
Also more Lupin, Amanchu, and WIXOSS, which is always nice.
We're also getting more BHnA and SAO, which is not as nice.

How is HSDxD even still going on? Where's the LN even up to at this point?

Is Persona V something to look out for?

>Puzzle and Dragon
Does anyone even watch this? It's like Digimon or something isn't it? Is is popular or something?

You won't enjoy it unless you've played Persona 5

So steins;gate and maybe a movie or two
I guess I'll keep an eye out for what you guys are enjoying but I don't think I'll be watching much this season

Is this a stealth way of telling me I should play Persona V?

Apparently Kizuna Ai is voicing someone in Mahou Shoujo Site?

Not watching LoGH?

If it's a total readaption then probably not, I don't think I could keep interest for a hundred+ episodes

It says 12 episodes right there though

Aside from sequels, the only things I'm picking up for sure are Hinamatsuri and Golden Kamui.
Uma Musume looks somewhat promising; it's from the same director as Outbreak Company and Konobi, written in part by the director of the original im@s games, and seems to have a ton of Cygames cash behind it, so I'm hoping for a fun lighthearted sports anime with high production values.
The Houkuto no Ken prequel looks like it could be good, except I'm worried that 3DCG is completely the wrong choice for that kind of anime. It's not, like, Berserk-tier CG, but I'm still doubtful that it will work.
There's also that chink anime, which I can't help but be curious about, since it seems like it'll be produced entirely in China except for the voice acting.
And there's a bunch more stuff that looks cute enough to give a chance, but nothing else that particularly stands out to me.

Sorry I only skimmed it, I guess I'll give it a watch with you then!

Are you counting Steins;Gate 0 as a sequel?

Yeah, that's pretty much obligatory. And the new FMP, and more Amanchu, and yet more Wixoss (I'm in too deep, it's too late), and the second cour of Hoozuki S2 (no homo). Unfortunately I still haven't watched the original LoGH, though.

>Unfortunately I still haven't watched the original LoGH, though
Well now you know what you're watching next…don't you?

Is Wixoss actually good? I don't think I finished the first season.
How much more suffering is there?

Good? Not exactly. I've enjoyed it in a perverse kind of way, and there is a decent amount of suffering, but I wouldn't say it's worth backlogging, especially if you didn't even stay hooked through the first season.

Sure, thirteen episodes a day starting right now, that sounds manageable.

I think I deleted the first season to save space, the girls weren't that cute anyways

Why the hell is suffering in fashion all of a sudden
I made the mistake of deciding to go and watch YuYuYu lately and god I regret it

I think that has enough material for a second season doesn't it? I want a sequel NOW!!!

Wasn't there some going on last season? Go search the MajiYuusha or whatever it was subber tag, I'm pretty sure there was a 6-episode series out this last season or the one before.

Well I guess that's me living under a rock
I'll take a look thanks

Was there a new season?

What do you mean?

What will end up happening is that I'll inevitable just watch what you guys are going to watch the most
I know that I'm NOT going to watch Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii though!

Steins;Gate 0 and the Persona 5 anime should be good, and the Amanchu s2 should be great as well

It's okay, you can admit it, we won't judge. There's nothing wrong with enjoying silly otaku-pandering cliche anime.

I mean exactly what I asked really, was there a new season and did you find it? I might've been mistaken.

I'll probably be watching Persona. Devil's Line and a few others look interesting.

Oh sorry for the late reply
but yeah looks like the sequel series finished airing around 2 months ago

Delete suffering, thanks.

I'm going to watch season 2's suffering and enjoy every bit of it! and there's nothing you can do about it!

I'll delete this thread…

Stealth or not, yes you should. See you in ~120 hours.

Not many interesting ones for me, I hope they won't screw up the Hinamatsuri adaptation, that's one I'm definitely looking forward to.

Not entirely related but Hitoribocchi is getting an anime as well, Mitsuboshi was okay but could be better. I hope this would do better and not be a botched adaptation. I still have regrets about Kemofure but Kadokawa sure are good at getting their hands on the things I like.

Bocchi is getting an anime? When's it supposed to air and who's making it?

Nothing much has been revealed aside from the video posted.

Anyway it's nice to hear that Bocchi's getting an anime, I look forward to it.

All is lost.

What's going on with your interwebs?

Fumikiri Jikan could be interesting.

I'm pretty excited for the new Cutey Honey, and Golden Kamuy.
I'm gonna watch the new Captain Tsubasa because I've always wanted to get into the series.

I read the manga of Mahou Shoujo Site; it's a guilty pleasure. If you're into edgy, grimdark mahou shoujo, give it a try. Don't bother otherwise.

I don't want to rush finishing persona 5 but I do want to watch the anime as it airs.

What do I do!?

File: 1334006193.png (19.1 KB, 495x159) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

That's all.

I've to catch up Darling in the Franxx, btw

Get spoiled, I guess. If you're halfway into the game it realistically means you need to finish the game within the next like 6 weeks, which isn't a huge deal is it?

Wait 3d kanjojo got an anime!?

I read that manga week to week until like a few months ago.
It was fucking terrible.

How did this happen.

ANN's information states that Kei Oikawa is directing Uma Musume and Hinamatsuri at the same time, at different studios. That can't be right.

File: [HorribleSubs] Gegege no K….jpg (95.77 KB, 1280x720) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

Gegege no Kitarou's first episode was good. Haven't seen any of the (many) previous adaptations. Uma Musume I had very low expectations for, even though I like this kind of anime, but it was pretty good.

File: Uma Musume Pretty Derby 0….webm (1.5 MB, 1280x720) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

I don't know where to start with uma musume. It had always seemed to me somehow unfitting for P.A., and episode 1 with its surprise idol theme made me think it was an outright suicidal project. Yet the execution feels like it can make it work.

For a screenshot, I wanted to use some of the excellent Engrish this anime has, but this scene is much more telling. This is the kind of boldness that can make a project like this work - when your premise is stupid, shying away from its consequences takes you nowhere.

Nips have figured out some of the characters are based on real race horses, which doesn't bode well for Suzuka. It's too early to tell if the anime will go the tragedy route, but it's easy to argue that they could have used a fictional name if they didn't want to.

I watched exactly 30 seconds of the horse anime

Overall rating: Negative meh, I take it?

Is 30 seconds really enough to judge a show?

File: [HorribleSubs] Uma Musume ….jpg (220.95 KB, 1280x720) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

If they shy away from anything, I hope it's the idol aspect. The rest of the stupid premise I can get behind 100%, but that part feels bizarre and forced to the point of being satirical.
>How do we make our new mobage popular?
>Add some idols, I guess, they're the hot thing these days
>But boss, it's a horse-girl-racing game
But aside from that, I really enjoyed the first couple episodes.

It's fucking hilarious in how little it seems to make sense but I'm pretty sure this isn't going to work if that's all they have. You can't expect an audience to tune in for a whole season if you've only got one joke.

I'm going to step in and say: no, but sometimes they can be enough to judge if you - you in particular - should watch a show.

Sometimes you already suspect you're not going to like a show and would rather not spend a lot of time finding out. In that case, I think it's acceptable to take shortcuts. Certainly, 30 seconds are one hell of a shortcut. but there's a valid reasoning behind it. Basically, you extrapolate and say "if the staff suck at x, they probably suck at y too".

This anime starts with an exposition scene that isn't particularly interesting or well-written. Although I don't think that scene is representative of the whole show in this one case, I do think that poor introductions often correlate with poor writing and direction all around.

Of course such shortcuts are much less reliable than an orthodox 3-4 episode rule. You could argue that the conclusion is more of a self-fulfilling prophecy than a valid analysis - but that's sort of the point. If this is the kind of mindset you're approaching an anime with, you'd probably hate it anyway if you gave it a fair chance. Remember, it's not about whether the anime is good, but whether it's good for you - if you can't be arsed to put up with a poor introduction, it's not for you. So yeah, give it a shot, see if it does something that genuinely impresses you, and if it doesn't go ahead and drop it after 30 seconds. All you're missing out on is the moral authority to go to the thread and call it 'objectively shit'.

It's not a comedy, though, it's a sports anime first and foremost. So nobody is tuning in for any particular 'jokes' in the first place.
Anyway, it makes sense to me; some girls are born fast, so they want to go fast, and protag is a fast girl who wants to go the fastest. Pretty standard fare, aside from the idol shenanigans.

It's not billed as a comedy but it sure feels like one to me.

"Overall rating: Bad.", actually
but keep trying! you'll get there eventually

fyi: the 30 secs I watched was from the middle of ep 2
I don't need the "3-4 episode" rule. I am smart enough to see when an anime is going to be crap just from the title and the color of the MC's hair, honestly.
I only did the 30 sec thing because I was bored and had half a minute to burn.

I really love the HS RSS feed. It's so useful!

This finally proves that "icicle" is just some character that one of you plays, like Borat, pretending to be retarded for our amusement, right?

why do you say that?
the feed genuinely is useful. not everyone can be assed to go look for "proper" fansubs for every anime they watch every week
sorry if convenience makes you mad

>I am smart enough to see when an anime is going to be crap just from the title and the color of the MC's hair, honestly.
So you're one of those walking masses of cliches who watch no anime outside of one or two of the most hyped Western friendly ones, and then complain all day long that anime is shit now.

>So you're one of those walking masses of cliches who watch no anime outside of one or two of the most hyped Western friendly ones
uhhhh… no.

people can't take a joke nowadays sheesh

internet is seriously business

File: [Ohys-Raws] Alice or Alice….jpg (158 KB, 1280x720) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

I watched exactly 3 minutes of the brocon anime

File: LONG BUTT.jpg (83.19 KB, 1280x720) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

I really really really liked this shot because it looks really really really stupid

Was it as bad as the summary made it sound

What an emphatic assertion! I agree. Truly was it that bad.

I read the manga's first few pages, which this episode adapts, back when the anime was announced, and I got the same impression then as now. Intense fetish catering, no room for the characters to be likeable. Well, that's just the opening scene and most of the cast is still unintroduced, but I for one plan to do better things with my 3 minutes a week.

File: [HorribleSubs] Alice or Al….jpg (123.36 KB, 1280x720) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

wow you people are such fags

I guessed as much to be honest
I might give it a go anyway since I don't really have much better to do but yeah…

>i was only pretending to be retarded

Who are you quoting?

I believe it is shakespeare

Are you upset?

I'm pretty sure he's quoting your mom, in the parlor; last night, with the Mr. Thick dildo.

Why the fuck do you /jp/ subhumans think you have fucking jurisdiction over the entire imageboard world? Fuck off and never come back.

File: Spoiler Image (79.02 KB, 496x868) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

>Who are you quoting?

but who was he quoting?

Ok, add this to the list of fucking so-called "alternative boards" that I don't need to come back to. Every single one of these places is just a fucking copy of 4chan one way or another. Same bullshit with a fraction of the traffic. WHY DO THESE SITES EVEN EXIST?

what pushed Anonymous to the breaking point? was it:
A.) people misusing quotes
B.) people saying "who are you quoting"
C.) people being angry at people saying "who are you quoting"?

come back next week to find out!

Where is my Hinamatsuri

Really makes me think that you don't like being told to not clichétext like a 14 year old /v/ user but you also think we're like 4chan. Glad to see you'll never be back, you weren't a quality poster anyways!

It's out.

what even are you on about

Thank you. Are there no groups picking this up?

>Simulcast: Crunchyroll (Schedule TBA), Funimation (Schedule TBA)

Thanks again.

Wow. That Lost Song crap was bad enough already before the Di◯ney musical started.

If I must say something good, it features Tamura Yukari as the oppai princess, so her most devote fans may want to play this with the player minimized and listen to her. She was doing a pretty good job I think.

File: [HorribleSubs] Isekai Izak….png (1.65 MB, 1920x1080) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

I'm not sure this requires a new thread. Despite the creative direction being less than what I expected, I think this is still pretty watchable. I thought Isekai Shokudou was better at least.

What's going on with all the hobby anime lately?

It has always been there, especially in manga form. It's just getting more attention lately.

So this is what it feels like to be a casual.

File: MPV-[HorribleSubs] 3D Kano….jpg (131.65 KB, 1280x720) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

You know I picked this up because its ridiculous name but I kind of regret it but it's probably my fault.
I can't tell if it has a bad premise or if it's just cheaply done but for some reason…it doesn't even make me angry or confused. It just feels bland. The name going in made me expect to feel a little ticked off, but it doesn't even do that.

>but for some reason…it doesn't even make me angry or confused. It just feels bland
probably because it's bland

File: MPV-[HorribleSubs] Isekai ….jpg (131.13 KB, 1280x720) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

So I finally went and watched this show, although it's almost over. I should've picked this one up earlier, it's hilarious, and the weird 3D section afterwards is kind of gross in a good way if that makes sense.

Did anyone else watch this show?

What set this apart from Isekai Shokudou? The premise sounds exactly the same.

Honestly not much
