The animation was really good, I hope to see more from this studio in the future.
It'd say it's less the animation and more the character design
Wow this show is ridiculously cute! This first episode was pretty good looking forward to more kaos-chan~ >>25169
I dunno, the animation was pretty nice too. lots of different faces in short shots.
Powerfully cute tsurupettan
No really the animation is superb. A lot of it is subtle things, like the rotating mug at 8:13 or the way Koyume hurriedly walks into her bow at 14:55. It feels like they took the extra time to put in the details, which is much better than skipping over details because you don't "notice" them anyway.
I used to read the manga of this; it's kind of a fun surprise for it to get an anime.

Keeping animation fluid and models consistent at this size is already remarkable. I expect they'll tone that down in later episodes after they've drawn in their potential audience, but they'll probably maintain a pretty good quality. What baffled me here was the lighting, however.
Look at that part where they walk into the sunlit area. I honestly thought it was CG at first. I don't know what they did, but there's something visually striking about the colors and lighting in the whole sunset scene.
I'm starting to sound like this were a KyoAni anime. It's not like that, it's just that they're putting more effort than strictly necessary for this kind of anime. It seems to be a trend lately - slow start had some gorgeous cuts, and I seem to recall sansha san'you did too. Kirara securing their foothold on the genre, I suppose.
you write too much
good posts please keep writing
Is there a standardized catalog of screentones or something?>>25183
It really is surprisingly well-produced. I wasn't even trying to pick out specific details like that, but even so, it just 'feels' extra pretty.
The lighting itself isn't anything remarkable, it's essentially the artist keeping the relative positions of the girls and the light source (the sun) in mind while drawing the frames. That said, what's remarkable isn't that they were able to do it but rather that they decided it was worth the money. Anime has been making some steps up lately.
I love this manga for this and the first episode was super cute

She's not a loser, she's a good girl
You can, download the 480p version
subtle expressions are done so well. Kaos's eyes at the very end are perfect.
she really is, the way she reads her lines sounds so good
Is it Kaos or Chaos? I'm pretty sure the kana is for Chaos, isn't it?

If the translator chose to spell her name differently from the word "chaos" it was probably because she writes it in hiragana, which as I surely don't need to explain is not the usual way to write foreign words.
It has already been shown on-screen as "Chaos", so if you need an authoritative answer there you have it. Personally I think that spelling is stupid and misses the point, which is perfectly consistent with most Japan-endorsed official English versions.
Speaking of which, Chaos referring to "neko" and "nya-n" as "English" was one of the episode's highlights for me.
Well it's weird so it must be English.
They're written with English letters, which look cool (according to Kaos-chan).
She's just a chuuni brat then isn't she
oh wait nevermind that's not the closeup
her body is just perfect
I swear I was really enjoying the episode, and even thinking it was one of my best SoL experiences in recent memory, BEFORE the underwear segment. In fact I had just come to terms with the idea that the fanservice in ep. 1 was a one-off thing to lure in viewers and not representative of the series as a whole. No, listen! I can PROVE I'm not watching this for the tits!
I don't watch these kind of shows for tits, but they're definitely a nice bonus.
You don't have to pretend, Anon; embrace the oppai.
I watch it for the flat chested not-loli.
Frankly, she is the best character, everyone else is so dull.
Kaos' voice saves her.
You know, reading the manga for this, I have to say the anime team did a great job. The manga is pretty mediocre.
Don't bully the real Kaos-chan.
Kaos basically exists to be bullied
How did she become a mangaka in the first place if - derived from the other character's comments that her concepts, art and sense are altogether poor? If she's at least good at one thing I can understand. From what little knowledge I have of the publishing industry and other related manga, it doesn't seem to make sense.
Those are outside the window.
I don't think so; I think those are supposed to be shadows, although obviously in that case they're not quite correct since they appear to have been naively overlaid on the scene with little regard for where shadows should and shouldn't actually appear.
I'm using Horrible, not Erai, so the frame times might not be exactly the same, but check out the bit from about 4:09.457 to the end of the cut. A large dot appears on the window, does a little loop, and moves up and to the left while spinning. I'm pretty sure you can see a shadow making the same movements, but flipped and distorted, on the side of the cardboard box immediately to the right of Kaos-chan. You can also see the shadow of the smaller, faster dot that moves below it near the end.
Also, if you look at the four frames starting around 3:48.144, you can see one on the window disappear behind the frame, meaning it's on the outside.
Hrm, you might be right
Rather surprisingly lazy work then considering how much love the rest of the show is made with, the opening sequence in particular was way better in the anime than in the manga where it was honestly a fairly boring back-of-the-Japanese-house setting where she took the call.
A flat chest is fine too.
Kaos is the best PC-ist there is!>>25641
Its okay because she uses a pen name, no one would expect someone named "Big Boobs Hinako" to be a flat highschool girl!
She had to do a public signing though
That name is horrible though to be honest.

This should come in handy to shield our innocent eyes from this world's lascivious sights. Forgive the lousy crop, I'm not a professional computerist.
New girl next episode? What kind of genre will she represent I wonder? Perhaps Horror? From what little we've been shown, she seems like a good time nonetheless.
All this anime needs is Ruki and Kaos-chan.
Yeah I'm not a fan of the blondie
I dunno what to think about Tsu-chan. She's a little obnoxious and her character seems flat? It's just "lol look at her she's a chuuni and masculine but not really that chuuni isn't she cool"

Ah, did you start watching recently?
Not really, I only caught up in the last couple episodes though.
Pretty damn good
Drop it in the OC thread and hope Yuno notices it I guess.
Oh I see
It's a good show though, right?
holy crap I did NOT notice that!
(this might be the first time I thought about Wakaba in 3 years)
Wait, who is this a reference to? Someone from Slow Start from last season? Why's icicle talking about someone from four years ago?
it's the entire Wakaba Girl cast
it took me a while myself but the pink girl's hairclip eventually gave it away

And of course they're their canonical swimsuits - excuse this poor excuse for a stitch. They never had this high a budget when they starred in their own anime, though.
I should rewatch this sometime soon.
I should watch that again. I remember loving it.
Oh, so it is!
It's been so long I didn't recognize them.
They're both from the same magazine right?
it's all kirara I think
still waiting on that inevitable mash-up anime where all the characters from all the CGDCT shows over the years come together for one big glorious 40-min beach episode
Wow that's actually really nice that they cameo so often
File: DF-mky7XoAAcXh7.jpg (424.37 KB, 1920x1080) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
Pretty much everything with cute girls and without explosions is kirara, but more importantly these are both from the same animation studio. I guess being from different studios must cause legal difficulties, because if houbunsha's rights were all that mattered surely they'd lure in viewers with cameos more often. Wakaba Girl, in particular, would have been a great chance to draw viewers from kinmoza (from the same author) to the less popular title.>>25785
They have this large-scale-crossover mobile game thing going on, kirara fantasia. I know nothing about it but it seems to be an RPG, somehow. Here we see a famous Kobe calf portrayed as a mage for the game.
jee just how hard would it be to cut your bangs properly?

We can make the time by cutting the normalfag and the overblown chuuni.
