Idols? Throbbing hearts? Childhood friends?! JCs?!?!?!?!
I'll give this a shot.

In the end, the only promises this show delivered on were CG robutts and QUALITY. It had good things that it never put to use, and the themes it did explore it did clumsily. Something must've gone wrong, because the good ideas were definitely there.
Mind you, I do think it was endearing and am happy that I watched it, but even as someone who'd take a second-tier original over a big-budget adaptation I must admit that this wasn't very memorable (I'll be cheering for the staff's next project anyway, though).
Nice OP at any rate.
>>29335>something must've gone wrong
They went and gone down the checklist instead of capitalizing on their original ideas
It feels almost like they had some ideas but chickened out of really using them after introducing everything
Is that the villain from that twintails show?
