This shows a lot of promise. Plenty of time devoted to the royally cute idol-queen JC and her throbbing heart, and the hot-blooded MC is instead a discreet childhood friend/sworn protector type of character. Also robots, bullshit super-clever strategies, cute warships, a super cutie pilot yet to be revealed, and some early QUALITY that forebodes a fun ride.

This could be a new Regalia which brings together fans of cute baka girls and fans of robots, only this time without Actas to sabotage it. Or it may not, as I hear robot fans frown upon CG.

This was pretty fun. I like the artstyle and the CG mechs aren't bad at all. Bwakahime is cute too!
I like how animation during the fight scenes was really fluid too. I'll definitely stick around with this to see where it goes.

Idols? Throbbing hearts? Childhood friends?! JCs?!?!?!?!
I'll give this a shot.

Well that certainly was an intense second episode. This is a promising start for sure. The mech combat is entertaining too.

I can't believe Joshua is fucking dead already though, he seemed like an important character.

This chick definitely has some screws loose

Episode 3 and we're already at this level, huh? I hope you guys like recap episodes, because this is going to be delayed at least twice.

Good episode, although it managed the 'bad guys have feelings too' theme a bit clumsily. I mean, if you're willing to threaten to kill someone in order to save their live, you should know right there that you can't be friends anymore.

By now this anime has shown its strengths and its weaknesses, and as long as the staff understand them all should be well.

And so the suffering continues…
I'm guessing she's the blue haired chicks mom or something, though I don't know how a kid would survive getting a building dropped on her and a nuclear level blast…

I'm starting to think this anime is some sort of extortion racket: unless we pay the 'price of smiles', they'll continue to traumatise the queen every week.

Guess again. We just haven't had a cheerful thing to discuss for a month and a half, that's all!

In the end, the only promises this show delivered on were CG robutts and QUALITY. It had good things that it never put to use, and the themes it did explore it did clumsily. Something must've gone wrong, because the good ideas were definitely there.

Mind you, I do think it was endearing and am happy that I watched it, but even as someone who'd take a second-tier original over a big-budget adaptation I must admit that this wasn't very memorable (I'll be cheering for the staff's next project anyway, though).

Nice OP at any rate.

>something must've gone wrong
They went and gone down the checklist instead of capitalizing on their original ideas
It feels almost like they had some ideas but chickened out of really using them after introducing everything

Is that the villain from that twintails show?
