There's no point in reading it, if anyone was wondering. It's not good.

I started reading Kuro today. It's a wonderful mix of cute little girls and eldritch horror.
>>3155
I'll have to check this out, the artstyle is really cute, and I love slice of life stories.

 No.3160

Started reading Dorohedoro. Tried getting into it, a couple years ago, but was put off by the violence. The world is pretty interesting.

 No.3177

The artstyle of Yuru Yuru was pretty in terms of looks, but the story was pretty lacking. The characters were all uninteresting boors, in my opinion.

At least you didn't sit through 46 chapters of it. Honestly I'm amazed it got 3 volumes. The art, while good, isn't anything special. The character designs are bland, the characters themselves moreso, and the jokes and story are really bad. It's not even moe.

Are any of you guys following Dungeon Meshi? I'm loving it so far, creative premise and the characters are a blast to watch interact.

 No.3192

>>3191
>After getting his sister devoured by a dragon and losing all their supplies in a failed dungeon raid, Lyos and his party are determined to save his sister before she gets digested.

Why does that sound like some vore shit

 No.3193

>>3192
It's not, thankfully. The main character and his party are piss poor and have no money for food, so they decide to try to live off of D&D style dungeon creatures in lieu of actual food, much to the dismay of their squeamish elf mage. It's like a cooking manga but instead of boring normal food we get really inventive instructions on how to prepare things like slimes, walking mushrooms, cockatrice, or even living armor. The whole imouto being digested thing isn't really brought up too much, so far she's just been a mcguffin. The setting is lifted straight out of an oldschool tabletop RPG so things like character death are treated lightheartedly because someone can just cast revive on you, so its not like there's a ton of weight to her dilemma.

 No.3194

>>3193
It sounds pretty cute, kind of. I'll give it a shot but I'm getting kind of worn out on cooking manga and anime lately. There's none of the retarded "food-gasm" stuff is there?

The opening is actually a layer joke on the title "Aiura". Steve Jobs appears because the title is pronounced the same way as iUra. Of course there isn't a iUra, but it can be tied to many crabs in the opening through the Heike crab. The heike crab bears a resemblance to a human face on their carapace and because of this they are believed to carry the spirits of samurai who fell in the battle of Dan-no-ura.

Italy, i have been taught to actually do that since it makes reading more fluid, especially leaving a space after a comma.

In italian using an uppercase after a comma is wrong, it should be used only after a period or at the start of a new paragraph.

>your English isn't bad

Thanks, the fact is that i have been reading english literature and i like to improve my english constantly, if the use of the uppercase for a pronoun after a comma is truly part of the english grammar i can correct this behavior, the same goes for the use of the space, i just want to be sure since i have met many cases even in books where the syntax was identical to my writing pattern.

Is incorrect because you did not capitalize the I at all. I'll leave comments in parenthesis. You would write "Thanks, the fact is that I have been reading English (English would be capitalized because it's an adjective derived from a proper noun) literature constantly, if the use of the uppercase for a pronoun after a comma is truly apart of the English grammar I can correct this behavior, the same goes for the use of the space, I just want to be sure since I have met (incorrect, you don't "met many cases" you would say "I have come across many cases in books") many cases even in books where the syntax was identical to my writing pattern."

What're your favorite historical mangi? This one's from Ad Astra, which is about the 2nd Punic War. Translations seem to be stalled for it, but it's up to chapter 31 for now and the raws are available if you can read Japanese.
I also like Historie, Vinland Saga, Kingdom, and Ravages of Time, so those are definitely recommended if anyone has any interest. If anyone has any other good historical manga, please give me a heads up, I really love stuff that's based on real life shit for some reason. The fact that the crazy bullshit in the stories and all the asspulls really happened in real life makes it a lot better and more impressive somehow.

Personally I'm actually disliking the dark turn it's been taking recently. From a certain point of view the dark was always there lurking underneath the surface but it was mostly played for laughs or for cheap horror. Also, they honestly haven't been cooking as much lately.
I think that the turning point came when they finally descended to the Dragon's floor. Yeah there was a bit about cooking to make sure you were on a full stomach, but then you had the little sister reduced to a skull, the warrior getting his goddamn legs chewed off, and the caster being a literal dark magician girl. It was just too much of a whiplash for me. Thoughts?

I think that we translated it as soon as we got the raws, but I think it's been finished for a few months now. If the magazine was monthly that it was published in (which I believe it was) and it started August 2014, 32 chapters isn't enough for it to be over 3 years. That is assuming that the mangaka didn't take any breaks. If they did, then it's very possible that it just ended.

Wait holy shit what?

I stopped reading it after they started to fight the dragon because the program I wrote to autodownload manga for me crashed my computer so hard you would've thought it was a seven person collision, but I don't remember it being dark then.  No.23427

Go catch up and find out
It honestly isn't even that big of a surprise in retrospect, remember that even though it was funny, the entire story was dark as fuck. The start was "my sister was literally eaten, my friends can't come with me because they gotta earn a living too, and I can't even afford food to go back in." The fighter guy is a pyschopath too, even if it's played for laughs - that's what I meant by "the dark was always lurking there".

 No.23429

>>23393
I think it was necessary, more so than anything. We knew that it can't possibly continue the whole light-hearted cooking thing without something holding it together. Many people commented if the series were going to end as soon as they reached the dragon and saved the sister. It might seem like a huge transition but I don't really dislike it, of all the possible plot progression, I think the author did pretty well in steering it in this direction.

Here's a very cute manga that is currently being translated. While it's finished in Japan, it isn't fully translated in English yet, so it's sort of like it's publishing, isn't it?

Anyway, Taisho Wotome Otogibanashi is a very cute story set in 1920s Japan about a boy who's right arm is crippled in a car accident, and the girl that is set to marry him. The story isn't all cute and there are some serious tones to it, but over all it's very cute and a pure love story. Nothing lewder than hand holding and small kisses in this!
If anyone hasn't read it, give it a shot. I came across it and read up to the latest chapter in one night because I enjoyed it so much.

It's honestly soul-crushing, something like ten hours a day of drawing minimum for weekly mangaka even if you have assistants.

Probably. They gave the impression of being totally unconcerned about humanity, and only speaking to Chito and Yuuri as a bare minimum of courtesy. They could have said, "we've scanned most of the upper levels, and there's nothing there, you'd be better off heading back down if you want to live", but instead they just answered the questions as shortly as possible and then flew away. After all, from their point of view, humanity is already extinct; two girls who happen to still be alive for the time being don't really change that. Why bother talking to a dead man?

Besides the stuff we know (Azami sux), has anyone noticed a sharp decline in the quality of the actual cooking tips? Early on, for example, we had stuff like 'dude add garlic to steak to soften the meat real hard', or 'you can tenderize meat with honey', or 'did you know, plums can add to flavor in rice if you add it sparingly'
Even during the tournament we got stuff like 'you can literally juice tomatos by cooking them without water' or stuff like tortoise burger (even if most of us will never try it), as well as the weird candy trick Alice / Souma used.
But now it's either weird shit like ketchup dumplings (which simply does not actually work, I tried it), stuff that we can't replicate like the low-cooking stuff, or random shit like Nene / Isshiki where it's just handwaved with them just being that fucking good.

I like this manga but I can't fully commit to it because they're not really genderbent, they're just trannies

It's just comedy so it doesn't really bother me. It's getting an anime in summer btw.

I feel the same but at the same time I find myself reading quite a bit of manga from recent anime nowadays. I suppose it's a matter of time before Dungeon Meshi gets an adaptation as well.

 No.25401

Dungeon Meshi should be a good one. It's popular enough that it's translated and published in the states, so I won't be surprised one bit if it eventually gets an anime

I do hope they would adapt it well. What other manga are you reading? Isekai Izakaya Nobu is currently airing as well if you're reading that. The creative direction is quite different from what I would've liked however.

I'm reading a fair bit of stuff, Kaguya, Maoujou de Oyasumi, Komi-san, etc
Discussing manga is a bit hard for me because most of the time I read the chapter and think "That was cute" and basically it.
I've been meaning to post more when I'm done reading but I read it all on my phone.
There's a manga that I'd love to see an anime for, and that's Hatsukoi Zombie. It's very cute. And it has fat Ebino tits.

Personally I never actually liked the Monogatari series, the only good parts were Math's arc and Kisshot's existence. And Platinum Mad.

She's one of the actually legitimately insane ones. Crab and Snail aren't so much insane as just troubled, for example (although Crab is also violent as hell) but Math is actually fucked in the head and it seems to me that she always had a couple of screws loose.
Who the fuck begs for help by teaching math to people, and who expresses her disappointment and disillusionment AS A MIDDLE SCHOOLER with an empty envolope?

What did You think of the latest elf isle chapters? I felt really aparyerltic towards the venture reawakening up until she saw guts. It felt so bland up until felt so bland dare I say rushed in the dream. As soon as guys shows up its really the only thing I realized I was missing. I was lomgimf for her reaction to the entire ordeal that happened at the eclipse.

I think what's going to happen is either Casca actually wants to see her child aka Griffith or Guts and the entire group will go and try to live peacefully, but will be hunted down and confronted with essentially emblesarries from Griffith. They'll have their backs against the wall with no other option but to fight, not only for themselves, but soon enough outsiders who need someone able to lead them. I think Griffith will end up sacrificing his entire kingdom to release a third transformation where his astral body becomes fully awakened a long side bringing in the rest of god Hand into reality. Perhaps this will also release Griffith from the body of casca and guts child.

This would give the survivors a reason to flee to gutsand casca as they would hate Griffith now too as they are hunted down.

We already know Griffith sees and knows that there is a threat out there that can destroy him and other God hand members as the demon army hunted down the witch of the woods. Whay reason there was behind This? It's uncertain, but it was obviously a threat to him.

I dont know the likelihood of this next part…
I'd like to see guts and his crew end up stopping the use of magic as it ends up just being fully under the powers of hell and God hand, but I'm no so sure of this. The "Vatican" and "Catholicism" and "Catholic Armies" and "pope" seem pretty clear to be in the story, but it's possible this is just a familiar vibe Mirua wanted to give the audience in resembling Christianity, but not being it.

The only answer we would have is in the chapter when the holy army finds the sea of blood after the eclipse in the page that has English translation of "Vatican" in it. If the Japanese kanji isnt thay of the "vatican" or relating back to Rome/Catholicism than it just may be a made up faith meant to simply resemble Catholicism. Griffith certainly is fitting the book of revelations anti-christ prophecy, but a lot of people think Mirua is implementing Niche's work into the story, which he can be or actually is, yet perhaps a conversion of ideals will hit Guts again but in the form of Catholicism? Seems like a long shot, but give the certain details I listed in the manga on catholic representation as well as after the tower Sacrafice when the prostitute says some thing like "it's not blind faith when people work hard" seeing other people had survived the Sacrafice.

I realize this is a manga thread.
I saw this series on an anime clip on YouTube. Were the anime movies popular and did they generate a good revenue? They completed the entire series in 3 movies, so it seems like they did good in bringingin profit.
There's not even that many YouTube views nor videos on this series.

It looks like a really good series tbat caught my attention andeven has great animation.

How has this series not gained a larger follow in the West and why isn't it widely known? No coverage, no rights for publ8shimg, n9 movie released.

 No.25825

>>25822
It *is* popular though. It's not a real shounen and there's really shit-all fights worth mentioning so that's a point against it, and the MC is really more of a point of view character than the main character, so that's another point against it, but in spite of that it's still fairly popular. There's also some really dedicated fanservice bits in there which might turn some people off.
The movies are alright, you can probably find them on nyaa.
