I'm personally willing to give a lot of stuff a shot, except Runway de Waratte as while the girl was rather pretty and the artstyle was interesting I found the manga to be pretty boring and just couldn't stand more than 20 chapters. Otherwise as long as it's not a 2nd season or more of something I wasn't already watching it's fair game for me.
Lots. Definitely Doga Kobo, Masaaki Yuasa, Somali, Yatogame, Camping Girls, Hulaing Babies and Natsunagu. Cautiously optimistic about Shield Girl, KemonoBand and Monmusu Brothel. Maybe Kuutei Dragons.
Going to watch Koisuru Asteroid, Darwin's Game, Eizouken, Dorehedoro, Yatogame, and Heya-Camp
I obviously have to watch Madoku and Railgun no matter what. I haven't made up my mind on what else to pick up, but I'm sure I'll figure it out.
>>34226>Cautiously optimistic about Shield Girl
I didn't realise the shield isekai had a girl MC. Heikinchi taught me that that doesn't automatically make an isekai enjoyable for me, but this one has an appealing cast and staff. Guess I'll check it out after all.
I share your interest in shorts, tentatively add Rebirth to the list, and am pleasantly surprised by more Hulaing Babies.>>34228
I'm always up for more Railgun too. Last time around, fans complained about the anime-original parts, but I didn't care; they were good enough for me. As for meduka, I had planned to be a bitter old fan myself and pass on it for trying to milk the franchise, but the truth is it looks genuinely good from the preview. So I'm in for both, too.
My only other musts are asteroid, Yatogame and bandori (despite what they did last time, yes). I have weird hopes about the scientists' romcom and will try a few more things.
Movie-wise, my guiltiest pleasures are being tickled with haifuri, FAG, and the strike witches spin-off.
Nekopara got an anime..?
also is it just me or are there less show this season?
looking at it, there's absolutely nothing that catches my eye
where'd all the zany 4koma stuff go?!?
actually no the astronomy thing speaks to me
the furry(?) thing sounds decent
and I'll check out Eizouken yada yada b/c meta shows about the making of anime are always interesting
Raildex is boring and stupid
who writes these synopses anyway?
they always make me sick
"Aoi is a girl who as a child really like blue but then discovered there are red people on traffic lights so 10 years later she set out to color – SHUT UP
FAG isnt' a guilty pleasure though
You're funny and stupid.
>>34224>also is it just me or are there less show this season?
I think so. This is a good thing though.

Somali no Mori to Kami-san for sure 110%
Maybe Murenase! Seton Gakuen, Koisuru Asteroid and Kuutei Dragons.
Rail Gun and Madoka have been on my backlog for like a decade so I need to watch the originals before I watch the sequels.
Also need to finish Yatogame-chan 1 before I start 2.
Also I'm pretty sure I tried reading Kyokou Suiri a long time ago and never got into it. I might try that one too. Nekopara also might be good to just shut my brain down and look at cute things.
Lastly I'll try Breakers if there are any cute amputee girls.>>34225
Shit dude I watched Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni months ago and it was long already.
I'll watch Promare most likely.
>>34240>Rail Gun and Madoka have been on my backlog for like a decade so I need to watch the originals before I watch the sequels.
I would scold you but there's a few famous shows that have been on my backlog for like a decade too.
Well you can scold me anyway as it's not just those two.
I also haven't seen Code Geass, Neon Genesis Evangelion and K-On, and have only seen a few episodes of Haruhi, Full Metal Alchemist, TTGL, Cowboy Bebop, and a few others.
The biggest problem is that I've seen so much discussion on them that it feels like I've already watched them;Railgun has a twintail lesbian lusting after the main girl who shoots lighting and gets cloned by a guy who's basically The Flash but a rapist. There's also a really average girl that everyone wanted to fuck.Madoka Magica is about a lesbian constantly turning back time to save her crush from becoming a magical girl and basically selling her soul to evil mascot things. The blonde magical girl gets her head bitten off.
It's impossible to use anime imageboards and not have this stuff spoiled for you over time, which just makes me feel like putting them off longer and longer.
Alright that's pretty bad indeed. In my case, I haven't seen any of the *gataris, but all of those shows I have covered for sure. And yeah, having some of the main twists being spoiled probably ruins some of the experience. I still think everyone should be forced to watch NGE+EoE once just for the sake of it.
pet sounds like it might be good. What a terrible name for a show though.
>>34240>Rail Gun and Madoka have been on my backlog for like a decade
What's the weather like in 2021, John Titor?
You know, a lot of the time watching things in order isn't as important as we make it out to be. It's surely the case in your examples: the new Madoka is a spin-off rather than a direct sequel, and Railgun is made up of mostly self-contained arcs. But even when a show does have plot continuity, writers don't want to drive away potential new viewers and make some attempt to put them up to speed in each first episode.
When people insist that others should watch a series in order, I think a combination of two things is going on: first, they underestimate how good people are at picking up the plot and characters; and second, they're subconsciously trying to lead them to enjoy the series the same way they did themselves, because of this thing our brain does where it tells us that whatever order we did things in is the correct order.
The way I see it, jumping in at a point in the franchise that tickles your fancy is just as fine as being disciplined and watching it in order - and if it motivates you to watch a series that you were never getting around to, I say it's even better. In fact, I think I'll take my own advice and give the new Show by Rock a chance, even though I never finished the first season.
By the way, I' haven't watched Full Metal Alchemist, TTGL or Cowboy Bebop either, and they're not even on my backlog - they just don't look like shows I'd like. I can name a character who dies in TTGL, too.
You're not totally wrong, but it's always better to watch previous seasons first. The quick synopsis that writers typically do may be serviceable, but far from ideal assuming this is a series that's actually good and something you want to watch. I agree that for spinoffs; it probably doesn't matter more often than not though.
What you describe is a sensible best practice that pretty much all of us would agree on. My point is that even such a common-sense rule can sometimes be worth breaking.
Say the nth season of a show is coming up, and it looks good to you, but you haven't watched the previous n-1 seasons. Common sense says to watch them first, but is that really the best idea? The calculation goes something like this:
- What is the worst that can happen if you dive in? Being confused and unable to follow the story? Can you bail out safely after a few episodes, or will it permanently damage your ability to enjoy the series / motivation to watch it?
- What is the worst that can happen if you skip it? Will you get around to watching the previous seasons (are you making progress on that backlog?), or are you even more likely to put it off now that there's one more season on the pile?
- How likely is each of the worst-case scenarios, and which is worse?
It's a personal choice that depends on lots of variables. Additionally, the more general point I wanted to make is that, since enjoyment of anime is subjective and everyone's experience is different, you shouldn't be afraid to enjoy an anime in an unconventional way if for some reason that sounds appealing to you.
Consider the case of Symphogear. I just started GX, and noticed something: at the start of each new season, they don't summarise the events of the previous one. Instead, they show the girls doing something awesome, then something cute. What the fuck else do you need to know in order to dive in and have fun, really? That girl? Oh yeah, she used to be bad, now she's good, who cares. I passed on the latest season, but if a new one comes up before I'm caught up, I think I'll dive in instead.

Okay I did it.
I was only three episodes away from the end anyway.
Really disappointed lobster girl didn't get much screentime in the last three episodes, she was best.
It took you four days for 9 minutes… I can see why your backlog is so large.
sry for being mean I hope you get more of lobster girl in season 2
Just noticed this anime called "Somali to Mori no Kamisama" had it's first episode released today instead of the 10th. Either an early release or a preseason episode, in any case will check it out later.
Check out the manga. It's pretty good.
Oh shit I wanted to pick this one up. Thanks for the heads up.
Alright, I just watched the first episode and it's already AOTS.
I'm picking it up based on the name alone
I only see Erai-Raws on sites though, bit weird for Horrible to be so far behind Erai.

I might honestly be reduced to streaming anime, haven't been able to download any in a while.
File: 1513739869391.jpg (448.3 KB, 1000x1000) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
Ouch. Where do people even stream anime nowadays? Is it still on sketchy fansites or does everyone use CR?
File: 1553322240869.jpg (73.82 KB, 665x705) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
I googled and found https://darkanime.stream/
the quality is terrible and the website is full of porn ads and popups, as is tradition
I got no idea, I don't stream anime normally
Maybe Kissanime still exists idk
If the problem is your own internet service then streaming won't be any better. Have you tried XDCC or in the case of a few groups DDL?
I don't even stream anime anymore. I just download from animebytes.
It's not really my internet it's some sort of problem with my ports I think, a lot of my applications are struggling to get online. My internet when I access it through a browser is actually pretty speedy.>>34422
Pretty sure most people download anime these days, at least people who populate imageboards.
Do you have over 4k torrents or something? In any case >>34417
is right. A few months ago when my client borked and everything crashed on startup no matter which client I tried, I went to get my stuff from XDCC and managed to finish the season it happened in until I fixed the stuff. Alternatively Anime Tosho/Horrible/Erai among others offer DDL
I'll probably have to do something to that effect if I can't manage to fix my shit yeah, terrible stuff
And no I don't have that many, I occasionally clean out seasonal downloads.
No, I only watch anime on anime6.org and oncepieceofbleach.com.

Just found out an alternate episode 12 came with the BD, with a different opening disclaimer and ED. I myaght as well post it.
Did you notice the singing hair accessories
Thanks for posting it!
The first episode of Koisuru Asteroid was cute as hell. Doga Kobo does it again.

I bet it won't be nearly as good as the original but all the yuri weirdos will love it nonetheless
The original was really bad though, other than the cute characters.
File: 1363129079498.png (85.42 KB, 500x500) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
it was very good
probably the best anime of the 2010's
You'd have to be a major contrarian to seriously believe that.
The first episode of the new Madoka is very promising. I wonder if this will be the AOTD again.
Princess Tutu is the better tragic mahou shoujo but come on, Madoka was good.>>34502
Do I have to have seen the movie first? Because I haven't.
>>34504>Do I have to have seen the movie first? Because I haven't.
If you somehow haven't seen Rebellion, you're really missing out. But no, it doesn't really rely on you seeing or knowing any of the previous Madoka stuff.

I haven't seen EoE either lol

I wish I could unwatch EoE so I could watch it again for the first time.

Top 3 sexiest stones
these look really nice, will watch it later>>34508
the Somali one seems promising
I really should get around to watching Rail Gun before I get spoiled about anything other than Accel-kun and VECTORS. Probably by the end of this year.
>>34587>end of this year
Why wait so long? Do it now. It's fun.
Accel x Last Order are the only good thing in the entire franchise
The setting and powers are pretty cool and most of the main characters (minus Index) are good. The main problem with Raildex is usually the plot which can be too convoluted for its own good.
>The setting and powers are pretty cool
ok yeah that's true
I just realized that Yuasa is directing Eizouken ni wa Te wo Dasu na.
Whoah this looks like 90s anime, is all the episode like this?
File: eyes.jpg (77.51 KB, 1280x720) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
Finally got around to watching Darwin's Game. Decided to pick it up after noticing the manga's name come and go over the years so went blind and it was hella fun

Does anyone watch the seasonal smut shorts? If so the new one already aired and theres subs already for those interested. Also the Illya VA is a bonus I guesshttps://sukebei.nyaa.si/view/2902794
>>34623>I want to watch the anime they were watching.
What's keeping you? Surely you can find seeds for it.>>34638
I liked the firefighter one, the MC was very relatable.
This is your brain on smut.

It's not even a thinly veiled reference, or a mix of different classic shows; it's scenes so famous even I, despite not having watched the anime, easily recognised it.
Guess I'm just retarded then. Thanks.
I've never heard of this show…
Oh gross apparently Kuutei Dragon is a netflix show. Well hopefully someone rips all the episodes soon.
So I tried the shield girl isekai as promised, and it was a superior level of dull. It was try-hard dull, like it had dumped all its status points into dullness.
I mean it made the game look boring, and I watched a girl play a boring game in a very boring style for 20 minutes, and the other things that were going on were worse mostly.
And I had sort of grown attached to the rabbit, too. Pity that.
Oh and apparently it's full 3DCG so nevermind.
I can't wait for Dorohedoro
To expand on my thoughts and why I feel that way I suppose it's because it takes me back to the moment when I was still feeling creatively driven. Apparently the first episode wasn't directed by Yuasa and during an interview with the director(Mari Motohashi), she mentioned how the manga draws in actual people working in the industry due to its realistic depictions of how things work. I like the fact that it goes into so much technicalities as can be seen from the newest episode. This is a proper anime about making anime. There are other decent anime I enjoy this season but personally this holds a special place for me.
File: photoop.jpg (115.05 KB, 834x720) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
I'm not even through all the ep1s and it's already a better season than the previous two combined
(discounting JK and bookworm loli)
Wow they straight up ripped off YMCA lmao
File: bitch.jpg (186.07 KB, 1920x1080) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
Picked up Nanabun no Nijyuuni because they look like K-ONs but the VA is the typical seiyuu who can't voice for shit which at the same time makes me curious enough to continue watching like what happened with Nana Maru San Batsu.
Just expecting this lass to get defanged soon with the power of friendship and teamwork as it always happens in idol shows.
File: red.jpg (196.68 KB, 1920x1080) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.
I expect even more suffering coming for the MC. So far the only interesting thing is "the Wall" stuff and the fact main girl actually points out the fakeness of the idols so hopefully she'll keep the emo act a bit longer.
it's a big ad for a real idol group that's being launched
she's not a club member right
Yeah but I'm surprised there hasn't been like a 2 second clip of her camping alone somewhere yet. Maybe next week.
The cost of drawing her massive bun exceeds the budget for the short.
This is the most shows I've watched in a season in a long while. I usually don't pick up too many. Normally like 3-5, but there's a lot of things that are promising so far.
what are you watching? I'm not even aware of any other than the camp thing
So far I've got Eizoken, Heya Camp, Id Invaded, Koisuru Asteroid, Kyokou Suiri, Madoka, pet, Railgun T, and Somali.
Basically all of these >>34852
plus Infinite Dendrogram
Just found this and I'll be honest. I like it even more than the original one.https://files.catbox.moe/8iwhig.webm
This anime is a weird one. At a glance it looks like it's trying to be a more serious or realistic idol anime, but then it hits you with The Wall. It's very hard at first to marry The Wall with the rest of the anime, but it's growing on me somehow. Every time one of the girls demands an explanation for some absurd turn of events only to be told that you don't question The Wall, is funnier than the previous time. And there's also something humorous about a bunch of adults, with their suits and their responsibilities, fussing about what The Wall said.
This looks pretty convenient
>>35085>And there's also something humorous about a bunch of adults, with their suits and their responsibilities, fussing about what The Wall said.
You'd be fussing about The Wall too if it meat not getting chokeslammed off the top of the sheraton, brother
