Trams are by far my favorite mode of transport. Japanese ones are a bit too orderly for my tastes, but still not as bad as Western European ones.
Eastern European trams are the absolute best, though. Some tracks there are literally over a hundred years old, and most wagons have been in service for decades. It's all extremely bumpy and rough. I had the luxury of literally driving through a forest in one when I was visiting Russia a couple of years ago.

 No.4899

Holyshit, there's no way that many people fit in that train, right?

 No.4901

>>4899
The people in the picture alone wouldn't be able to and there were a lot more than them in total. I don't think even Japan can manage that, but I have no idea where they would be coming from. The road on the top doesn't actually seem to even connect to the left side. Maybe the train problems we know of are actually a lot worse than we have ever thought.

 No.4902

>>4901
There has to be someway people are getting in on the left side. But I don't see why though, they would have to be either getting on or getting off a train, and other times it looks like people are on that side when they're leaving. I always assumed that in anime when it showed people being packed in like sardines that they were all kidding, but maybe they're actually as bad as portrayed?

 No.4904

File: Untitled-2.jpg (167.54 KB, 1600x1200) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

>>4902
I would argue that in anime they really don't show it as bad as it is to begin with. Most of the time there are not a lot of people, which might be true for the more normal hours, but even the packed ones are not that bad or unseen in other places. I have seen real footage of super packed ones and no anime comes close to it. Even so the number of people I saw walking earlier can't be physically fit in the 3-car train beside them. No fucking way. Also on the left side I have only seen people coming down-up and not really up-down except when a train has just stopped.

And there is a very simple reason why the road on the top might not be connect with the left one. We saw how many people can be walking around on that small station. So it is not to cause traffic problems of people trying to walk in the opposite directions. It actually does make some sense. But it would suck a lot if you get on the wrong side, or want to switch trains.

Even so, I think people might actually be getting down from this little place right here. Might be a one way to going down (no idea how they would force that, escalators maybe?) or just a gentlemen's agreement.

I guess even Japanese train stations are a mystery to the baka gaijin.

 No.4906

>>4904
And see, this is what doesn't make any sense to me about the "Japan needs to keep having children!"
Their population rate is unsustainable. They have like 120 million people on that island, and around 40 million of them live in Tokyo. 1/3rd of ALL Japanese citizens live in Tokyo. Isn't that fucking insane? Imagine if 110 million people lived in New York City. That would be fucking chaos. Tokyo has "more than twice the population density of Bangladesh". That's just mindblowing to me. On top of that, most of Japan is mountainous, which makes it insanely hard to live in most of the country.

But this isn't about the era of declining birth rates. This is about trains.

 No.4908

>>4906
It is a highly urbanized city and there are not a lot of people in the countryside. They are still not bad, but they are getting there. You just can't have an country made of people too old to work. Your economy dies with it. And that is Japan in the near future and the rates of it are pretty high. And even if it might not be the worst to decrease with 20-30 million and have 90-100 million in 50 years, if the population is still not fucking, not only you are already bad economically, you will disappear or someone else will take your place (see the dying Europe and Muslims coming along to claim it). You need the children, because without them you have no future. No children, no country. The dropping of the population itself is not the scary thing, but the percentage of ages that causes it.

Also it is part of their reality that they don't have a lot of land to work on anyway. Even so most of their agriculture is made of normal-sized families, not big companies, which makes it impossible to profit from it normally, so they are highly subsidized by the country. So I am not even sure if there is any space for more small families to go work on a land anyway. Not that anyone wants to. The farmers get paid brides from the Philippines, because the Japanese women doesn't think it is very cool and exciting to go live on a farm. Shit sucks all around.

That is a god damn exit/entry. There is no wall there, notice the white from the white column next to the overhead crossing. And somewhere there there is another hole people can get through. And what is even more interesting is that I saw earlier a lot of people coming from there and going down, which explains some of the huge traffic he have seen before. But it leaves the big question, what is actually there.

I actually have tried to post it with mp3 audio and still got the same error. The sad thing is none of my videos even have an audio, but for some I guess OBS doesn't make it disappear, even when muted. It must be nice actually having it be cold in the winter. Lately its been over 30 C here.

I would disagree with you and say I hate the cold, but I also hate it when it's hot. In other words, all temperatures are terrible, and it is never "nice".

Feels bad living in the wrong hemispehre.

I think it's nice when it's between 10 and 22 C

I like it when it rains and that slightly sticky air is what being outside is like. It's rather cozy. But that's not much a temperature so much as it's a weather condition.

I like the cold as long as I stay indoors, that way its maximum comfy mode. being wrapped in a warm blanket watching anime in the cold is great.

That's not really enjoying the cold weather if you're just inside in the warmth, is it?

 No.11901

Yeah, I guess so. But its the comfyest time to do things like that, unless you wnat to cranck up the AC and pretend you're in winter.

Japan seems like it's a really cozy country. It has a nice countryside, it snows there, and the summers get hot enough where they feel like summer. What's not to love?

I've heard that summers in Korea, Japan, are often really muggy and unpleasant. But you're right, Japan has a good variety in it's climate, from subtropical in the south to cold and snowy in Hokkaido. And the nature is verdant and mountainous .

 No.13409

Japan is a tropical climate I think, so it makes sense the summers suck there. I still thonk it'd be fun to go and sit in the countryside while listening to the higurashi

The humidity in the summer is tough. But like everything it comes to an end and fall brings a crispness to the air that is rather refreshing. And reminds you that snow is soon to come.
