 No.12909

To pick up the mantle and try to keep a fledgling thing going, I'm going to start streaming.

I'm going to start with some Studio Ghibli films. The plan is

1). My Neighbor Totoro
2). Kiki's Delivery Service
3). Princess Mononoke
and ending it with
4). Spirited Away

From then on, we can transition to series, other movies, etc.

They wouldn't all be in the same day, but maybe two a day could work.

The plan is to stream on Fridays and Saturdays, starting with tomorrow - Saturday (Feb 24th). If this doesn't work out, then we'll start March 2nd, Friday.

What times work best for you guys?

 No.12911

I live in the distant past of PST, so just don't make me wake up too early.

Tomorrow sounds perfect too.

 No.12912

I'm on CST, but I'm pretty much free all day during the weekend, the afternoon would be nice though. Although, I wouldn't mind it sooner if that's what the majority want.

 No.12913

If it's the weekends then I'll be available at all times as long as we establish an agreed hour
If you're EST then I think something like the afternoon (NOT night) would work best, as the Europeans are still awake and the PST lads should be getting up.

 No.12914

Saturday and Sunday anytime is good for me. I can't be up too late (past 9:00-ish) on weekdays because I work very early in the mornings but any other time is fine for me on the weekdays. I'm EST by the way. Afternoons would be nice.

 No.12917

Any time or day is good for me

 No.12922

I will be streaming in 30 minutes - 3PM EST

If we don't have enough people by then, I will delay the stream until 4PM EST.
Please join us on Live.

Streamer-san are you dead? I'd take up the mantle from you but I'd feel awful if I did that and you were still around. Anyways if nobody gets to me within the next week + weekend I think I'll tentatively pick up where you left off if that sounds good to everyone. Well it was a week late but the Trigun stream has finally come to a close. I had a lot of fun watching it with you guys, and I'm glad we finished it off, I ended up liking it even more than I thought I would. Special thanks to Ryusei for actually showing up (semi)consistently.
Anyways, next week I was planning on streaming Magipoka for all of you, but I'm super open to suggestions, just let me know! But I think that Magipoka might drum up a bit more interest than Trigun did, plus it's just a ton of stupid fun. I know Yuno mentioned she might watch which would be fantastic as well. I'll make another post in this thread a couple hours beforehand, and I'm planning on sticking to 3:00 PM EST on Fridays, unless that's unfeasible for anyone in which case I can try to work another time out, I'm flexible.
Hope to see everyone there!

Magipoka is old enough that I can see people not watching it since the show itself isn't really known for much

I avoided Horizon for years because, you know, it's Horizon. Someone convinced me to watch the anime not too long ago, and I have to say, it seems like the kind of adaptation that's only properly enjoyable if you've read the source material. (The first cour, at least.) Otherwise, it comes off as a mishmash of bizarre events and long-winded yet half-baked exposition, until the final few episodes when the pace picks up.
And for anyone who hasn't seen it, no matter how much you've been warned about how bizarre an experience Horizon is, you still won't be prepared.

You'd think MagiPoka would still be well-known from that Liru H-game, if nothing else.

Well it's pretty mediocre to be honest, so it's not surprising not many people have watched it.

That's part of it's stupid charm though. I agree though it's certainly no masterpiece but I think the occasional badness will make a fun stream.

I've got good news for all of you and bad news for me. The bad news for me is that Ustream is going to be shutting down free accounts on the first of August, so I'm going to need to find another way to stream anime with all of you. I've finally managed to figure out how to get subbed videos to play to CyTube through Google Drive properly, so we're gonna switch to using that. This is bad news for me because encoding and uploading takes a lot of time but so long as I prepare a day ahead we shouldn't have any issues. This is good news for all of you though! Whether it's because they're shutting down free accounts or because my "pro trial" ran out, the Ustream streams have been getting progressively choppier ever since Scrapped Princess, which worked fine oddly enough. because of how CyTube works this will no longer be an issue, and that means a better watching experience for me, and all of you, which is the most important thing. Now I just have to play with encoder settings to get these things to look good and not take years to upload…

Does this mean we're using CyTube this week?

That was the plan, however I forgot about the user script issue. You need a GreaseMonkey script for Google Drive videos to work. I like to think Samachan is smart enough to figure out installing it on their own, but I dislike the idea of anonymous dropping into the stream and having to jump through a hoop before they can watch, I'd like it to be seamless. What do you all think?

 No.14390

I already have greasemonkey anyway. Doesn't it automatically ask you to enable it anyway?

 No.14391

>>14390
I had some trouble getting it to work, but just enabling/disabling it and refreshing got it working for some reason.

I'm fine with the userscript thing, I didn't know about it and it only took me a few minutes to get it working.

Well, that's enough of a response for me, not like more than 2 people ever show up…

I have not. But I also don't know too much about Fate. I'm not really into it, so a lot of it would likely be lost on me personally. I'm not against it if Samachan as a whole wants it though! I probably know enough just through being on the internet and watching Zero to figure it out.

It's mostly dumb gags about Tsukihime / FSN with a couple of references to Melty Blood. I think it's plenty funny even without it but it definitely leans a lot on a cursory knowledge of the clichés involved. Satsuki's segment is based on the fact that she's a forgotten heroine with no route, for example.
