Uhhhh I guess I like the classic country station on the radio…

It's pretty hard to listen to Japanese-relevant radio when you're not in Japan, on account of having no reception and radios being outdated by half a century anyway. I guess podcasts are the """new""" thing to replace them.

It's always interesting how weirdly quaint Japan is. They use so much shit we'd consider ancient.

I wouldn't call radio outdated. It's still pretty vibrant in most of the world and a lot of podcasts are also radio shows. I listen to several local stations regularly.
And anyways pretty much everything gets streamed online nowadays. The only real barrier to listening to these other than not knowing Japanese is just how boring they are since other than the occasional interviews it's mostly just seiyuu making smalltalk and trying to promote themselves to fans.

I was trying not to outright say 'the shows also fucking suck' but yeah they suck.

I suppose if you're a VA fan or have an incredible interest in whatever is being discussed, you could like it. But I don't know many VAs, I can only name like two or three off the top of my head.

Normally when I bother to listen to 'radio' it's mostly stuff like stand up comedy or occasionally talks by scholars.

I have plenty of seiyuu I like and even then I'm rarely interested. Most recently I guess I listened to some of the Hidamari Radio shows again since somebody ripped and uploaded them to nyaa after it finally ended last year. If nothing else Asumis' rambling makes better highway listening than angry old men on AM talk radio and I always liked listening to Ume-sensei and Matsuki Miyu.

>Matsuki Miyu
This one is that didn't make it, right?

It managed to last that long?

I guess it's harder to get axed as a radio show considering there probably isn't that much cost involved, opportunity or otherwise.

I refuse to believe these shows aren't meticulously staged and the personalities on display aren't fake, and I have no attachment to the fate series but I'll admit hearing that seiyuu gush about shotas was very entertaining.

Not really. It stopped after the anime ended and then ran again for a few months in 2017 after volume 9 came out. I think they just wanted to put a definitive end to it.
