Bump limits and reply limits on threads have been changed across the site. Instead of the massive 500/750 it used to be, it's now 150/225 for the Anime & 2D Media board and 250/300 for the Japan/Otaku Hobbies board. We're hopeful that this will encourage the creation of new threads instead of having everything sit in months/years old "general" threads.

Sounds like something from Atelier games

I remember watching some anime with Saint-Saens music, don't remember if it was Nodame or Shigatsu though. Very nice nonetheless.

Shiina Ringo's voice is amazing

The guitar riff reminded me of this artifact of a bygone era

Which in turn gave me the idea of watching haibane renmei as my last anime of the 2010s.

File: 09 - Rustle.mp3 (6.52 MB)

Damn, that made me a little nostalgic.
>gave me the idea of watching haibane renmei as my last anime of the 2010s.
Good choice, you've seen it before I take it? It's one of my all time favorites, in no small part because it has a gorgeous OST. I always listen to it and the Sora no Woto OST around the holidays actually, it's my christmas decorating music.

Very pleasing stuff

>you've seen it before I take it?

Absolutely not. I've seen it being talked about here and it seems to be the perfect way to pass that particular time frame. Had I known boogiepop phantom was as good as it was, I would have saved it for a better time.

To keep this post on topic, here's another artifact of a bygone era.

Oh awesome, that's exciting. I rewatched it fairly recently so it's quite fresh in my memory. I look forwards to any posts you make about it!

You broke it!

lmao I hope there are backups

I'm tempted to open a new thread just to see if it breaks the entire board

ok it doesn't work
samachan.org forgot how to handle mp3s

Wow your taste is so bad you made the website sick.

Post it again and see if the website breaks again.

I used to play this game a lot as a kid at my cousins house. In any case, I dare you to find me a cuter song.

It's tagged in the metadata, but yes. I'm still waiting for a new album. It's been too long since the last one. Surely they'll have something for the next comiket.

I think Samachan.org purges mp3 metadata
Anyway yeah, Demetori arranges have a unique sound to them

IRON ATTACK! is good too, but it's not nearly as "playful" as Demetori can be

It doesn't.

Iron-Chino releases way too many albums. Their songs range from mediocre to great for me. They occasionally release a fully great album though. Japonism from last year ended up being one of my favorite albums from 2019.

File: 07 魍魎の密室.mp3 (9.24 MB)

Unlucky Morpheus is very good too, almost Demetori-levels of coolness, and they're also vocal

I do get fatigue trying to listen to their albums from start to finish unfortunately

File: 04-merrymaker.mp3 (7.03 MB)

If you like Unlucky Morpheus, you should check out Light Bringer. Same vocalist (Fuki) and a lot proggier and more complicated. The indefinite hiatus will probably never end though.

is it touhou?

No but neither is most of Unlucky Morpheus's releases.

File: 1574518119941.jpg (20.54 KB, 240x380) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

why would I listen to something that isn't a touhou arrange, though?

File: 02-Unbind.mp3 (8.7 MB)

Plenty of great doujin isn't even Touhou. My favorite doujin metal group is actually DenKare who do eroge soundtracks and original albums. I like their heavy, thrashy riffs.

File: 1535739281087.png (286.23 KB, 421x323) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

Sorry, I am only capable of listening to stuff with simple melodies my monkey brain can recognize

so it's either Touhou, Pokemon or Undertale arranges for me, forever

File: 04 深夜0時.mp3 (9.69 MB)

I really liked that, thanks

o kirby how I yearn for yoourr sweet embrace

this band's pretty good! I remember trying to find something like this a while ago but having mixed results. Started listening to some Aldious, they're alright but didn't scratch the particular itch I had fully.

File: 10-Shadow Corps.mp3 (7.42 MB)

Aldious is pretty OK. Their first couple of albums with Rami may get some power metal fans going, but I was never too into it. When they switched vocalists to Re:NO, the band started having some stylistical confusion with the insertion of pop punk and jrocky tracks in there as well. I found it somewhat interesting, but it wore off on me after a while. They switched vocalists again recently (Rin), but have yet to record anything new with her. I'm not sure why I follow a band so closely that I don't really like that much, but maybe one day they'll surprise me.

By the way if you aren't aware, DenKare's members are nearly 1-to-1 the same people that are in Yousei Teikoku. It's not "official," but there's been plenty of obvious hints dropped over the years plus Yui's voice is really obvious. Yousei Teikoku's early stuff is more electronic/dark wave, but around Pax Vesania and onward they started going full metal so it pretty much sounds like DenKare. Actually, they're supposed to finally release a new album this year so I'm pretty pumped for that.

I like this dark Miku. The style reminds me of later Ulver. Also the lyrics hit a certain spot.

These covers are certainly interesting

Yeah, I've only listened to two of their albums (both of which I cant find on my PC for some reason) and they've got a few nice songs. It all spun off of hearing some power metal on a Sound holic album and wanting more of that style of music lol.

Havent heard of Yousei Teikoku either, so I'll give em a listen too. thanks!

File: 03 Forevermore.mp3 (8.83 MB)

Someone post some music from All About Lily Chou-Chou please.

how about you post that if you want to listen to that?

New tricot album out.

File: 1425765494130.jpg (57.65 KB, 514x524) Thumbnail displayed, click image for full size.

Excellent news, thanks for posting about it here, otherwise I may not have found out for a little while.

I haven't listened to the whole thing yet but how does Samachan feel about it?

I used to be into tricot but I sort of fell off of them (and math rock in general actually). I listened to the new MV they released recently and thought it was pretty OK. Other people may feel differently than me, but they don't sound as energetic or inspired as the older days.

File: 07-Ghost Dance.mp3 (7.03 MB)

That being said. I still hold some Japanese math rock albums in very high regard. LITE's second album is a goddamn masterpiece.

Oh I don't know LITE
Do you like Uchu Conbini?

Yep sure do. They were great. The main guy's project is Jyocho now which is essentially more of the same. Jyocho was another band I fell off of after a while. There's absolutely wrong with them. I just got tired of the general style I suppose. I'm more of a metal guy.

Math Rock is a bit of a dead genre it feels
Dont think Ive listened to anything that has truly wowed me in the past 5 years

File: 02. calm (spctrm).mp3 (7.18 MB)

The last release by fromadistance

File: 03 Dreaming.mp3 (11.72 MB)

and now I'm sad…
so here's a song to make me sadder………

Yeah it seems to have peaked a while ago in terms of quality. I was also pretty disappointed on Cö shu Nie's new album. The anime songs plus a couple others are good, but a lot of it is super bland.

I listened to them after hearing them in Promised Neverland. Cool band but the songs I listened to all kind of sounded the same. I didn't listen to a ton though.

>Cool band but the songs I listened to all kind of sounded the same.
Math rock in one sentence.

The relatively limited range of guitar tones doesn't really help. Most bands are pretty much clean. Some add a lot of distortion, but they tend to be more on the noisey part of the spectrum which isn't something I find appealing.

After remembering this show existed I've been tempted to mention it here, but have held off since I don't know how Japanese it is.

However the opening song, which was the best part of the show, was done by a Japanese band for sure.
